LOS ANGELES, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- "Tonight, we will see one of the most shameless displays of partisan politics when Senate Republicans will stop all business on the US Senate floor to carp about a completely fictional 'judicial crisis'," said Susan Lerner, chair of the Committee for Judicial Independence and a leader of the Justice for All Project, a statewide coalition of groups which supports a fair and balanced judicial nomination process and opposes the confirmation of Californians Carolyn Kuhl and Janice Rogers Brown as federal court judges.
"The vacancy rate for federal judges is the lowest it's been in more than a decade - under 5%," Lerner continued. "That's lower than the unemployment rate.
Instead of stopping the nation's business to whine that Brown and Kuhl aren't getting job promotions, the Senate should be focusing on the more than 3 million Americans who don't have a job.
We're grateful that Senators Boxer and Feinstein are dedicated to insuring that federal judges are committed to justice for all, rather than wanting to guarantee that the confirmation process is merely a rubber-stamp for the president's extremist choices."
"We here in California are very familiar with Janice Rogers Brown and Carolyn Kuhl and the way they allow their extremist ideology to influence their judicial decisions," said Ted Wang, Policy Director of Chinese for Affirmative Action in San Francisco. "That's why so many California organizations oppose their confirmations as federal judges and support the filibuster of their nominations in the US Senate. We are pleased that our elected representatives understand how extreme these two nominees are. Both Senators Boxer and Feinstein oppose their confirmation and 22 members of the California Congressional delegation stated their opposition to Brown's confirmation in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee."
"These repeated 'judicial crises' we hear about are the result of ruthless political manipulation by the right wing. When Bill Clinton was President, Senate Republicans created a judicial vacancy crisis by refusing to give 60 judicial nominees -- more 30% of Clinton's judicial nominees -- up-or-down votes," Douglas Mirell, immediate Past President of Progressive Jewish Alliance and another leader of the Justice for All Project said. "Of those 60 nominees, 20 of them were women. President Bush has had 168 of his judicial nominees confirmed - a 98% success rate, several of whom Progressive Jewish Alliance and the Justice for All Project vigorously opposed. It's time for the Senate to return to the urgent job of addressing America's critical social and economic problems."

This is from PRNewsire, which means it's paid propaganda, but newsrooms in this country will reprint it verbatim as 'news'.
As Limbaugh says, "The liberals are never funnier than when they are out of power".
How crazy are they?
Look at the first sentence of the article, look how long it is. The person who wrote that sentence was very angry.
The original title of the article was:
California Coalition Condemns Shameless Republican Manufacturing of Judicial 'Crises' in US Senate
The FR posting mechanism rejected it- could it be any longer, or more inciteful of hatred?
Look at the list of the opposition... it's a damn freak show of intolerance!
My personal favorite? Democrats.com.
Now there's a brain trust!
So, the unemployment rate's, like, really low or something? :-)
Good point. Manufacturing is UP under the Bush administration: Shameless Republicans Manufacturing Judicial 'Crises' in US Senate
Don't tell Willie Green, it will ruin his day
