Two terrorists were killed and five others were captured. The Media will point out that this is a "body count", and is evocative of Viet Nam.

"Operation Iron Hammer" seems a bit much for an operation that centers around shooting up a warehouse. Why not "Operation Shoot Up a Warehouse"? Less risk of codename inflation that way.
On the other hand, it's good to see something that has the appearance of decisive action being done.

Hmmm, the way I read that article suggested that there was a bit more involved than just "shooting up a warehouse," but I guess you've probably captured the "CBS spin" for this...

Saddam, Syrians, AQ, and other Islamic terrorist rapidly enlisted a counter-plan to "Operation Iron Hammer." They code named it "Operation Arm And Hammer" to clean their clothes after soiling them!

Why not "Operation Shoot Up a Warehouse"? Less risk of codename inflation that way. Operation "Iron Hammer" has an unfortunate resemblance to the code name of Israel's operation "Iron Fist" in South Lebanon. This was ordered by the then Prime Minister Rabin, to cope with the first wave of attacks which followed the invasion and occupation. It was very nearly successful. But not quite. And so there was another wave of attacks, and another wave of reprisals ...

Batter's up!

An AH-64 Apache helicopter was called in to follow the fugitives and it fired on the vehicle, hitting it.

This operation is coming on the heals of the CIA report (the one that contains the word "bleak" -- get ready to hear that word bounce around the media for the next three weeks) so it's going to get some extra attention from the press and the public. It would have been better if "Operation Iron Hammer" had lived up to its name.

While failing to note their own gleeful "body count" of every American casualty.

Thanks for the site!
I first saw them briefly at Ubon, then again at Hurlburt Field while I was stationed at Eglin. They are Spectacular! Nothing like them!
