Still apparently not known: doctors do not take the Hippocratic Oath.

Maybe they should — it forbids abortion — but they don't.

Common misconception. (No pun intended.)

My son is a third year medical student. He swore to the Hippocratic Oath the day he received his white coat and started Medical School.

I and 132 of my classmates in Medical School did.

My class was offered several oaths and voted on which we'd all swear including a couple variations on the Hippocratic Oath. Unfortunately an English translation of the original Hippocratic Oath, Apollo and all - my choice - lost. I forget what non-Hippocratic oath I actually took although I know I have it stashed somewhere.
