Interesting CNN is using the term "terrorists" but this is absent when it describes who Israel targets in its military operations against terrorists.

Steve Centani of Fox was the only network correspondent on the scene when the 101st got Uday and Qusay.

Succession of Blasts Heard in Baghdad
15 minutes ago Add Top Stories - Reuters to My Yahoo!

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A succession of blasts, up to two dozen, echoed across the Iraqi capital Wednesday night, Reuters witnesses reported.

The location of the blasts was not immediately clear, but insurgents in the past 10 days have fired mortars and rockets at the sprawling compound where the U.S.-led administration has its headquarters on the west side of the Tigris River.

U.S. army officials had no immediate comment.

Iraqi residents near the heavily fortified compound which houses U.S. military bases and the headquarters of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) ruling Iraq (news - web sites) said they had not heard any explosions from inside the area.

Night-time mortar attacks have underscored the growing boldness of guerrillas confronting U.S.-led occupation forces in Iraq, more than six months after President Bush (news - web sites) declared major combat over on May 1.

Isn't this the day Amber whats-her-name gets her 15 minutes?

They were talking about Derst trial and verdict. Linda Vester is probably the smartest woman in tv and they've got her stuck talking to some grandma about how she feels about Scott Petersen.

Talk Back Live was the start of the end for CNN. Why FOX wanted to duplicate that is beyond me.

They still don't get it. If 9/11 won't change their minds about pre-emptive action, then nothing will.

"that doesn't stop folks here from bleating how they never fight back, they're sitting ducks, etc"

You cannot deny that something needs to change, and the leaders recognized that and hence the new action that you see. We were holding back too much. That much is clear from the comments I've heard coming from Rumsfeld, the General in charge, etc. So I agree and also say "It's about damn time."

FOX seems to be in love with its Dayside/Talkback Live garbage too much to actually cut in on it for Breaking News.

I just depends on the importance of the news. Bombing in Iraq - keep normal programming. Dog on an ice floe - break in with continual coverage.

surely linked to the Bremer departure. But why? Why did he have to leave for this to start?

also, you can bet the media will be looking for civilian casualties as the first story to report. count on it, they are scum.

That DaySide program should be cancelled and fast. It is a complete waste of Linda Vester's talent and it's so bloody annoying. Today they were talking about the boys involved in the sodomy of some football players. Say what? WHO THE HELL WANTS TO TALK ABOUT OR LISTEN TO THAT?

BTW, I don't normally even check it out but I was cooking for a luncheon and had it one for a second. I quickly switched over to CNBC. FNC has become a bit too tabloid for me of late.
