[history]
Riding in on a borrowed Harley-Davidson, John Kerry (search) appeared Tuesday on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" as rancor within his presidential campaign continued to boil.
The Massachusetts senator, wearing a leather jacket, blue jeans and a denim shirt, rode the motorcycle onto the stage.

Anyone hear Leno's comment:
"If Senator Kerry ends up winning the election, he'll be the first President since Clinton to have rode a hog"

I watched last night's Tonight Show. Kerry looked like a complete moron. Leno opened by asking him about the time Kerry was selling a motorcycle, and the guy asked to test out the bike, and continued down the driveway and drove off, stealing Kerry's bike. Kerry was slightly annoyed/embarassed that Leno brought it up. Kerry continually bashed the President, although Leno was having none of it, nor was the audience. The audience didn't know whether to laugh or not, and most of the time they didn't. There were one or two Kerry supporters (probably campaign staffers) in the audience who would hoot and holler everytime Kerry spoke, but that was about it. He also took cheap shots at American corporations, which incidently Kerry must not realize hire "American" workers and create jobs, and are the backbone or our economy. Overall I thought it was a lame appearance on Kerry's part, and did nothing to further his campaign, on the contrary only drive him further away from the pack.

Your not getting the joke... "rode a hog..."

Triumph, the insult comic dog, was on before Kerry and had the line of the night: "The poop I left in the dressing room has more heat coming off it than his campaign."
Triumph also pointed out that Leno stopped the show for Arnold, yet Kerry had to follow a dog puppet.
That's one good puppy dog.

Like the motorcycle crowd will be fooled by a frenchman on a Harley. You could dress him up like a gladiator and he'd still look french. This stunt will get him zero votes.

I sort of got it but decided to take the high road.
