Marsha Blackburn is a freshman GOP star from Brentwood, TN outside Nashville. A lot of people have taken notice of her - she's very attractive, articulate, a quick thinker, and in one of the safest seats in the nation. Her district includes Williamson Co. TN, where there are, maybe, 10 Dems in the entire county. A HUGE percentage of musicians and singers you know live there, as well as about half the entire Nashville banking community. Li'l secret - a LOT of former Los Angeles studio musicians have moved there to (1) escape LA's myriad problems and (2) cash in on the huge recording scene here.
As for Ms. Blackburn - you will be seeing a lot of her in the future.

I noticed on ABC's Primetime Live from Nashville they implied that Sheryl Crow was moving to Nashville. I wonder if SHE'LL move to Brentwood? She'd be a little out of her element...

We here in Williamson County are REAL proud of Marsha. Before she was elected to congress, she was one of the leaders in the state government working against the income tax. There were bumper stickers saying "Marsha's the man".
There are rumors that she will run for Frist's seat if he retires.

"... Marsha Blackburn is a freshman GOP star from Brentwood, TN outside Nashville. ..."
I live in Memphis, 210 miles from Nashville, and also reside in her district thanks to the last redistricting. According to Emails I have exchanged with her, this lady supports gun rights, home and charter schools, vouchers, and the right side of every other position that I have asked her about, including low taxes and downsizing government.
Republicans in Tennessee, and especially in Memphis and Shelby County, have suffered some severe betrayals recently in the persons of former governor Don Sundquist and former county mayor Jim Rout. Both of these men have been replaced by more-honest democrats, and good riddance. So Marsha Blackburn's move up from the state legislature has been a pleasant change. I am anxious to see how she does, and if she can move onward and upward from here.
