Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller, left, gives a medal to Polish soldiers for their work in Iraq (news - web sites) during his visit at the Camp Babylon Base, some 80 miles south of Baghdad, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003. Miller marked his country's 85th Independence Day by telling Polish troops Tuesday that they were in Iraq 'to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people'. (AP Photo/Pier Paolo Cito)

Today is Poland's Independence Day. On November 11, 1918, Poland recovered her independence after having disappeared from the map of Europe for 125 years.
I thought I would offer my thanks to them as well as to all our veterans on this Veterans Day.
And I'll be visiting my in-laws there in December.

Song of Warsaw 1831
Oh Frenchmen! Are our wounds
Of no value for you?
At Marengo, Wagram, Jena,
Dresden, Leipzig, and Waterloo
The world betrayed you, but we stood firm.
In death or victory, we stand by you!
Oh brothers, we gave blood for you.
Today you give us nothing but tears.
THE FRENCH HAVEN"T CHANGED MUCH!

With a nod to CommiesOut/Kulak and ever mindful of what he might actually have to say on a day like today with regard to the stars by which we steer our nation ...

Read this gift, and then tell me what other nation besides the US and Poland understands and yearns for liberty as much as these?

I believe it's a dialect called Pittsburghese, where the nasal whine of Yankeeland collides with Appalachian dialects.
