Columbus was good friends with the Jewish community in Spain, was probably of recent Jewish decent, and may have been a secret Jew. A good argument can be made that one of his reasons for his explorations is that he was looking for safe refuge for the Jews, who were kicked out of Spain the day before he sailed. Certainly, the Americas have, for the most part, been a refuge.
Tell that to the left-wing activists and watch them squirm -- at least, those who aren't anti-Semitic.
