Hey RonDog,

Thanks for organizing this - it was a lot of fun, and Danny boy got a little bit o' rain on his parade.

'till next time!

Super FReep, report, and photos!

Here's Rather talking to Bill Clinton and pulling for Hillary as she works on her socialized medicine program:

"Thank you very much and tell Mrs. Clinton we respect her and we're pulling for her."
--Dan Rather interviewing President Bill Clinton via satellite during CBS's annual affiliate meeting, May 27, 1993.

Thanks to All for making Dan's visit most memorable.

The CBiaS sign is a real eye catcher. 9-)

I just got a new PC over the weekend, as my last one crashed in September. I underwent a massive FR withdrawal!

Everone did a great job last night. Instead of getting my news from here, I spent 2 months watching various news programs on tv. Bleeeech! Dan Rather is a jackass. They're all jackasses...except for the local Fox news ;-)

Ron, thanks for the pings; I hope to be able to make the next rally :)

Yep ! I thought that sign was great too ! I sure was hoping that some Texan
there would carry THIS sign for me though ...

Just so you'll know, I'm ashamed
that Dan Rather is from Texas !!

Dan Rather, who is being honored for his "steadfast commitment to fair and accurate news reporting" by the Museum of Television and Radio.

Did they also honor James Carville for "steadfast commitment to non-partisan political analysis?" Maybe next year?

It was fun, we got interviewed by some guy from "Television Week" (?), and we saw Jay Leno on his motorcycle speed past the cars in the hotel driveway. Check in!

I hope they have a photo of you guys. Television Week had two pics of members of the Code Pink coven (one on the front page) when they were toting signs slamming Fox News and Clear Channel at the National Association of Broadcasters conference. It also features right-bashing Washed-up Post TV columnist Tom Shales, who distinguished himself (NOT!) by becoming a sounding board for people who don't like Bernard Goldberg.

I got to meet Jay Leno last year at his show. At the beginning of the show he asked "does anyone have any questions?" We knew about that. If you raise your hand first, stand up, and say really loud "Can I have my picture taken with you, Jay?" He says yes and you go down on stage, meet him, talk to him, and get your photo taken with him. I have the photo on my frig. I know he is a Hollywood liberal but he was a VERY NICE man and he doesn't mind mixing with his fans. He drives himself to work everyday, too. He has no patience with the stars who don't like their photos taken. There was a group of mentally retarded adults and he had his photo taken with each one of them after the show. He was genuinely a nice person.
