I don't see how a guy who raised taxes by 46% can be seen as much more of a heartthrob than say, The Sheriff of Nottingham. Oh well, perhaps that's why I'm not a bed-wetting liberal.
I keep hearing people talk about how he is a fiscal conservative. I could rob a Federal Reserve Bank, pay for a Hummer in cash and make the same claim because I don't carry any debt for my snazy, new set of wheels.

...that anger is kind of sexyKeep thinking this, demoncrats. You've lost the South and the white men, this will peel away your 'get along at all costs' Soccer moms.
That vital, flag-burning core will rejoice, OTOH.

I'm not sure when liberals suck worse. When they mean it, or when they are soul-sucking jerks, just running a scam.

President Bush is the anti-Klinton - Dean is just another "say anything that seems to be working so I can get in power and screw you" DemonRat. You know, the same kind of person that they all try to portray the President as being.

To the political Left, Clinton was the tall, dashing lover who swept them off their feet only to break their hearts Werent his first two years by-the-book liberalism? Gays in the military, a Cabinet filled with leftists, a push toward nationalized medicine? Are they saying his ambivalence is what pushed the Republicans back in power? I dont remember it that way.
After the Democraps lost the Congress, he played the centrist; he had no choice or he would not have been reelected, IMO.

Dean is plain-spoken and honest. I dispute this. I just read "Who does Howard Dean Think He is" where he made up a story about a 12 year old girl being pregnant by her Dad. He also is going back on many statements he has made in the past. He's a liar also, and tries to explain away previous statements with spin.

Dean has made at least 3 major flip-flops thus far.
-Assault Weapons Ban (Now, he'll sign it. 6 months ago he wouldn't.)
-Federal Funding of his campaign. (Believed it was the only moral way to run, when he didn't have contributors yet. Now, "Bush made me do it.")
-The Confederate Flag. A condescending poke in the eye to working-class whites all over the country.

Yeah, doctrinaire liberalism is what gave the GOP the house in 1994.

Actually, Howard Dean is the personification of Jeb Bartlett from "The West Wing" - liberal ideology above Clinton pragmatism. However, Dean will find out in the general election why "The West Wing" is pure fiction.

The metaphor is a perfect device to illustrate the emotional basis upon which Democrats choose their candidates, great article.

You are right on target with these comments:
Weren't his first two years by-the-book liberalism? Gays in the military, a Cabinet filled with leftists, a push toward nationalized medicine? Are they saying his ambivalence is what pushed the Republicans back in power? I dont remember it that way.
After the Democraps lost the Congress, he played the centrist; he had no choice or he would not have been reelected, IMO.

Pictured above: Bubba who got re elected by appearing to a centrist rat in 1996 works with $inator Hildebea$t teaching her how to lean to the right to appear to be a centrist rat if and when she is "drafted" to run in 2004.

Dean was a wealthy urban kid who, laden with liberal guilt, voluntarily moved down the social ladder to maintain his principles. Clinton was a poor, rural kid who sold his soul to the highest bidder for eight years in the White House. To be more precise:
Clinton was/is a turd...
Dean is a polished turd.

I have liberal relatives from Vermont, who hated Dean when he was the govenor, but now love everything he is saying, mainly because they HATE Bush. Their hate is totally irrational, so likewise their support of Dean.

Can't you just see Bubba training and working with his Shrew to get her to appear to be more towards the middle?
