Oh, wolfie, I'm so happy you're back enough to post a little.

From the reports we heard, the pain was pretty much very extremely Extreme.

{{{wolfie}}}

I remember being in just a *little* pain when I broke my arm in so many places I was in surgery for 8 hours. The next 3 days afterward, I really wanted to get off the pain medicine as soon as I could -- but the pain was bad. So I called a friend who'd been through a lot of pain (cancer), and she gave me good advice:

She said you're not going to be able to watch a big long 2-hour movie -- the pain is too great for your mind to get distracted on something complicated. But to the extent you can divert yourself from the pain a little by watching cartoons, that could work. And it sorta did! I traded in Percoset for Bugs Bunny and it kinda worked well.

Oh man, nowadays when I stub my toe or something, I just remember *that* pain and compare it to what I'm experiencing and I just laugh it off. So I guess you've got that going for you: in the future you'll be more pain-toughened perhaps.

What doesn't kill you . . ..
