Well... it starts at the same "time" everywhere no matter what the clock says. Reminds me of the '83 Super Bowl when my sister had a lot of beers at a SB party and called from the Central Time Zone early in the 4th quarter to our parents' house in the DC area and said:
"I can't take it anymore. This is too close. Go ahead and tell me who won."
Mother (bewildered): "What???"
Sister: Well, you're an hour ahead of us...it must be over by now, right? So what's the score?"

(CBS has canceled this tagline. It was "not due to controversy." Tom Daschle is disappointed.)

Sister: Well, you're an hour ahead of us...it must be over by now, right? So what's the score?" I read about a clever scam that was run in a British sports pub many years ago. They played horse race broadcasts (IIRC, on radio, back when there weren't a million cable channels and live sports coverage became commonly avaialble on TV).
However... They had secretly rigged things up so that the broadcasts they were playing in the pub were on a 5-minute tape-delay, and not actually live.
So the owners listened to the live results in the back room, then went out and made bets with the bar patrons on which horse would win the "upcoming" race...
