November 8, 2003 -- Paroled New Jersey cop killer Thomas Trantino is back behind bars after allegedly beating his live-in girlfriend, authorities said. Trantino, 65, was charged Thursday with criminal restraint and aggravated assault.
Police were called after people in the Camden building where Trantino works counseling parolees on re-adjusting to society heard noise upstairs and found Trantino holding the woman, 33, in a headlock, authorities said.

Yes, judge, I was just counseling this woman (hey--x42 tried it too--under somewhat different circumstances).
This POS should never have been released--or allowed to live.

I can't imagine the crap you must hear from these unfortunate people. You must do your work out of deep compassion because I can't see any benefit from it other than to help others. Prayers for your sanity.

Thomas Trantino and Frank Falco savagely killed Detective Peter Voto and rookie cop Gary Tedesco in the Angel Lounge in Lodi, N.J. in 1963.
These police officers were stripped, forced to commit sexual acts, and executed by Tarantino and Falco.
Falco was killed by the N.Y.C. police several days later. Tarantino should have been executed also.

Funny, nowadays you scarcely hear "savage" used with killers any more.

"This POS should never have been released--or allowed to live."He spent 8 years on death row. Then in 1972, the USSC decided the death penalty was cruel and unusual. When the DP was re-instated, Trantino was no longer "eligible" for it. There are 3 culprits responsible for his release back into the community: the parole board, the state supreme court and a small army of liberal psychologists who deemed him fit for human consumption. Too bad he didn't resist arrest like his partner, Falco.

I just googled to remind me the excuse for his release...It was because he could no longer be considered a danger to others(Though he was condemned to death before the death penalty was abolished by the feds.)
Well, doesn't he get his parole revoked if he does exibit he is dangerous,I ask hopefully?

You forgot the part about their being pistol whipped beyond recognition.

Surely the legislature had something to do with it? Why didn't death commute to the next thing, ellwop?

I was a rookie cop in Newark, N.J. when it happened. I haven't thought about the event in years, [since his release] however the feelings of outrage and frustration it caused have been brought to the surface once again, through this article.
The hateful feelings we can do without, but it is good to remember those that fell.

Kenneth Allen McDuff, released during federal mandates over overcrowding in Texas Prisons, once condemned to death, was paroled and went on a killing spree. He has finally been executed.Laws have been changed, parole board reforms made and new prisons built because of this dreadful, tragic error of judgement. He had murdered two teen agers the first time around,4 women, tortured, raped and slain the second time.

Paroled killers should forever be forced to reside in the states that released them, never to leave, even temporarily. Let the local populaces see the consequences of their liberal courts and judges.

And
this one is even worse : The people who got this POS scum released put an article online crowing about how they made P&P release him, and about how they hired Trantino to be a counselor. Unbefreakinlievable! I hope they feel proud of what they did this morning...At least this woman was rescued in time, and the fact that Trantino attacked a woman when he's well over 60 says it all. That's VERY unusual. There's only two other thugs I ever read about who commited violent acts at an advanced age. One was Lawrence "Mad Chopper" Singleton, who raped a 15 year old girl and chopped off both of her arms, leaving her to die (she survived). He was executed for killing a hooker when he was over 70! And back in the 1920s, the Grand Dragon of the Indiana KKK was sent to prison for causing the death of a young lady he kidnapped. He was released in the 1960s-and attacked a teenage girl just months later!
