[history]
November 8, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - U.S. forces last night pounded the hideouts of Iraqi terrorists in Tikrit after an Army Black Hawk helicopter was downed with a rocket-propelled grenade, killing the six Americans on board. American troops, backed by Bradley fighting vehicles, swept through the neighborhoods of Saddam Hussein's hometown in the early-morning hours blasting the houses of his thugs with machine guns and heavy weapons.

Why haven't we been killing these bastards all along? And when these rats start celebrating, why don't we shoot them?

I think that Saqr Ghani should 'disappear' for a week or so and then show up in the town square as a female with his 'manhood' on display right next to him. Surgery can be a wonderful thing.

Tikrit ans Mosul seem to be headquarters for the Saddamites , why not just level the damned towns and let them shout Allah Akbar in the desert. Its time to stop playing around.

Rummy says it's okay to shoot and kill these muslims, just don't threaten them with a gun in order to get vital life-saving information.

This war will be won and it will be won exactly the way we are fighting it, mostly behind the scenes, working with the Iraqis, finding out who the bad guys are and going after them one-by-one. The bad guys think that time is on their side and they are going to wear us down. But time is neutral here. If we play it right --- as I think we are --- time is also on our side. As more and more Iraqis come to the conclusion that the best way to help their own country is to help US soldiers find the bad guys, it is the bad guys who will be worn down, not us.
In the meantime, it's very painful. It is a very painful time for our country every time an American soldier is killed.

I felt happy and started shouting Allah Akbar," Saqr Ghani, one of several local residents who celebrated the carnage, told reporters.Tikrit needs to be completely surrounded and blitzkrieg'd , forcing every inhabitant from every structure. Anyone then resisting or found to be an insurgent/terrorist or otherwise found to be involved on attacks on the coalition should immediately die where they stand. Kind of an urban cleansing. Might also find Saddam this way. We CAN'T allow ourselves to get bogged down with these small but costly attacks anymore.

Don't forget Fallujah. That needs to get the same treatment.

Isn't it rich, aren't we a pair
Me here at last on the ground - and you in mid-air
Send in the Kurds
Isn't it bliss, don't you approve
One who keeps tearing around - and one who can't move
But where are the Kurds - send in the Kurds
Just when I stopped opening doors
Finally finding the one that I wanted - was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines - nobody there
Don't you love a farce; my fault I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want - sorry my dear
But where are the Kurds - send in the Kurds
Don't bother they're here
Isn't it rich, isn't it queer
Losing my timing this late in my career
But where are the Kurds - send in the Kurds
Well maybe next year

Why haven't we been killing these bastards all along? And when these rats start celebrating, why don't we shoot them?It should be a given that any of these subhuman moozlims caught celebrating the murder of any US soldier should be shot dead in the street.
Anything less is perceived by these animals as a sign of weakness.
If the US isn't prepared to do what it takes to win the war, then we should get out.

American troops, backed by Bradley fighting vehicles, swept through the neighborhoods of Saddam Hussein's hometown in the early-morning hours blasting the houses of his thugs with machine guns and heavy weapons. "This is to remind the town that we have teeth and claws and we will use them," said Lt. Col. Steven Russell, commander of the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment.

Instead of talking to reporters, these animals should be running like hell from the scene of an attack like this out of fear that the US is going to wipe out anyone in the general vicinity.
This is BS.

Agreed.
Our guys will have to get inside their heads in order win this thing. But our guys know that and they will do what they have to do. Even if it involves doing business with tribal leaders who are known murderers and thieves. The idea it to take the fight out of them WITHOUT killing them all. There are no shortcuts.

We need pictures of the A$$holes who celebrate these things. They need to be taken out, I prefer by sniper attack, but I'll settle for anything.
Good grief, we've even got their names in the paper. It shouldn't be hard to find them.

Because there are some people who still want to take a Mr. Rogers approach. You know, if we can just show them kindness and love, then all their misconceptions that lie at the root of their behavior will disappear and they'll join us hand in hand around the old campfire singing Kum ba Ya, giggle and make Smores, retire to the tents in peace, all the bickering of the previous day forgotten, and then wake up to meet a glorious new dawn together!

They said it was flying at 300 feet with another Black Hawk at 9:20 a.m. and was minutes away from landing at Camp Ironhorse, the main U.S. military base in the virulently anti-U.S. Tikrit area.
That height of 300 feet is ridiculous. TF 160 flies at 35-50 feet in order to AVOID these kinds of attacks. 300 makes you a big trackable sitting duck able to be seen for miles around, and at 100 mph you aren't going that fast.
At least drop them below 100.
When you're lower, then other items in the landscape become obstructions to targeting.
Come on. Someone get with it. We've known this for years.
