John Loftus now on Batchelor Alexander WABC reports: A student of Nuclear Engineering at McMaster University Hamilton, Ontario. has disappeared along with 180 pounds of nuclear waste stolen from the university's nuclear reactor. This happened several months ago but an alert has been ordered tonight in the USA and Canada. His name is ? Adnan al-ShoukriJumai, 27 years old, a Saudi national. A search is underway. The fear is that they may hijack a cargo plane in Canada. I hope to provide further details later on this thread.

From what ive read it will make people sick and kill some.
It will also make the area at ground zero uninhabitable for a long time.
To: CyberAnt
From my understanding, it depends on the material, etc. It could contiminate several blocks in an urban area for years...

Wrong. Materials are missing. Canada is parsing their denials. See link below:All sources in it are unnamed.

I hear that it's actually Don Cherry that's missing, not nuclear material. The nuclear material was found in Lanny MacDonald's moustache.

I think "the next big thing" terrorism-wise will be the introduction of foot & mouth disease into our livestock or some deadly mycotoxin on our grain supplies. The quickest way to create chaos anywhere is to limit or threaten food supply. It's hard to believe, because food is so accessible in the U.S. But, it was a food crisis that spurred the French Revolution (that's why they spend thousands more per acre on food subsidies than we do). I once had a tour of Hunt's Point (food terminal and distribution point) in New York, and I was stunned to find that Manhattan, were it isolated and cut off from outside food supplies on any day, would have exactly 2 days' food supply before chaos would break out.

"It's pretty hard to carry 180lbs of stuff in a briefcase."
Based on our border security, they could smuggle 18,000 lbs across either our northern, southern or coastal borders.

It says on her website she went to Mohawk College which is in Hamilton Ontario. Same town as McMaster who has lost this nuclear material supposedly. It all ties together somehow. I don't think Jillian weighs 180 pounds though.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2003-04-03-alqaeda-usat_x.htm Fugitive said to be al-Qaeda pilot
By Kevin Johnson and Toni Locy, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON U.S. authorities believe that a former South Florida resident who is the subject of a worldwide manhunt is a licensed pilot with training in explosives and ties to top al-Qaeda leaders.
Authorities also believe that Adnan El Shukrijumah, known within al-Qaeda as "Ja'far the Pilot," was an acquaintance overseas of Jose Padilla, a former Chicago-area gang member who was arrested last year while allegedly plotting to acquire materials for possible use in a "dirty bomb" attack. A dirty bomb uses conventional explosives to spread radioactive material.
The interrogation of al-Qaeda operations chief Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, also has helped authorities develop a picture of El Shukrijumah as a well-connected operative with a range of skills that match the terrorist group's continuing interest in staging attacks with planes.
El Shukrijumah has six aliases and is believed to have received his pilot's training abroad, the counterterrorism official said. Authorities also believe El Shukrijumah may have attended an al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan.
"What we are concerned about with (El Shukrijumah) is what targets would he be interested in hitting domestically," the official said. "We know al-Qaeda has discussed hitting soft targets."
Information gathered since Mohammed's arrest has intensified investigators' interest in El Shukrijumah. He is described as a slightly built Saudi national who has traveled extensively in the USA, speaks flawless English and has a radical, fundamentalist view of Islam.
Authorities have described El Shukrijumah as a suspected operative with managerial skills similar to those of Mohamed Atta, the lead hijacker in the Sept. 11 attacks.
"I believe Ja'far is a threat to this country," the counterterrorism official said.
Officials say they believe that El Shukrijumah left the USA in the weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks, and that he is hiding overseas. He is believed to hold passports from Saudi Arabia, Canada, Trinidad and Guyana.

The rockets which were set to be sued to shoot down an El-Al plane were shipped via Canada Post. No kidding.

i like B&A, they talk about stories that make you think, like this one.
To: Allan
You know, I've been out to dinner this evening and amazingly enough had a little go round with a "catholic" middle easterner at the bar which is an entirely different story (he accused me of being with the CIA and I tried to explain that I was a FREEPER) But I come home thinking of safety, tune into Free Republic and I see that there has been 180 pounds of nuclear material stolen, a man has been convicted of beheading his wife's three children, Christian children at a liberal university and an outbreak of the ebola virus in the congo. Prince Charles is possibly gay, thousands are fleeing Zimbwabe, mass graves have been found again in Iraq, geomagnetic storms could cause volcanos and quakes and I haven't even opened my bible yet. Somehow I feel like I have been transported to the Book of Revelations but I am praying that it is the three French Martini 302s.

I tend to agree with you.
What is Uranium Waste?
Is it 100% U235/U238/etc., or is it some lesser percent of U with other materials (possibly including other heavy radioactive materials)?
How much (of either 100% or some lesser %) is needed to make an effective dirty bomb?

True.
Hoping its a hoax.
Then again,on sept 10th i would have believed planes hijacked into the twin towers and pentagon were tin foil paranoia.
I learned never to say never then.
One good thing, if its true we are alert for it now.
It could even be a diversion.
We know they want to hit us back and they are trying.
I trust Delta Force or someone is on it if true.
If its a hoax Freepers will expose it soon if the past is any indication.
