Coalition Educates on PSM While PSM Obfuscates By Andrew L. Jaffee, November 7, 2003 |

A broad coalition of conscientious, peace-loving individuals and organizations has done great work in exposing the Palestine Solidarity Movement (PSM) and International Solidarity Movements (ISM) for what they are: racist, hateful terrorism supporters and enablers.
Yesterday, Representative Dixie Allen (Democrat - Dayton), Rabbi Hillel Fox of Congregation Beth Jacob, Dayton, and myself, publisher of netWMD.com, LLC, held a press conference at Ohio's State House at 4 PM, trying to draw public attention to the PSM conference at OSU. We then presented a petition with 10,280 Ohio residents' signatures to Governor Taft. The news organizations Columbus Dispatch, Dayton Daily News, and Columbus TV channels 4, 10, and 34 kindly provided coverage of the event.
At the press conference, Rep. Allen, an African-America Ohio State House member, said
...she saw the groups message as violent against Jewish people and said it appalled her.
Rabbi Fox stated
...because the movement has not actively rejected terrorism, its message is still not peaceful. ...
Anyone peace-minded would have renounced terrorism...
Fox claimed that the movements goal of divestiture in Israel is a form of anti-Semitism because it "singles out Israel against other countries."
While our coalition has collected voluminous documentation on PSM/ISM activities (see also our press release), the Columbus Palestine Solidarity Movement's spokesperson, Nahla Saleh, claims:
The PSM has never in its history advocated violence or terrorism or anything they have accused us of.
It must be noted that she has never addressed the evidence we have collected on her group. For example, PSM members chanted "Kill the Jews!" at their 2002 conference (see also). PSM activists rioted at Concordia University in 2002 (see also). ISM and PSM websites call for the destruction of Israel "by any means necessary." Governor Taft has declared that he "deplores" the Colubmus PSM's policy which "condones terrorism and should be opposed by civilized people everywhere."
Also note that the PSM or ISM have never to our knowledge publicly supported Israel's right to exist in peace and security. The coalition opposing the PSM has stated many times that we "unequivocally recognize the right of the Palestinians to a free and democratic state, but not by the means of terrorism."

If there's a buck to be made, they'll shout it to the high heavens, whether there's the slightest validity to their charges or not.
