This pisses me off more than any other subject I have ever encountered.

It is more than what I have said so far. That is just a dribble.

The hospital room and the resperator rightfully belong to someone who might live. Giving them to someone who can't live is morally wrong. It takes them away from those who can.

If we had unlimited resources, this would not be true. But as things stand, it is true.

And sometimes, it is just better to let someone go.

Remember, the symptoms of persistent vegetative state and lack of cognition are merely subjective. Terri's case proves this. Do you want to be killed because of someone's opinion?

A woman I used to work with just suffered a severe stroke and was technically dead for over 30 minutes. The EMT's were able to bring back a heartbeat and all but she was only "surviving" by all the life support machines. But she was gone. Her brain is gone. In a case like that, yes, let that person go.

The only thing hooked up to Terri is the feeding tube. She is being supplied food and hydration. She breathes on her own. Obviously, her brain is letting the rest of her vital organs function properly or she would need help from other life supporting machines. I don't care what the circumstances of any situation is, no one should be denying anyone food and water. If that's all it takes to keep one alive, then do so and let God decide when to bring her home.

There needs to be clarity in living wills, which, BTW, Terri doesn't have. The culture of death is trying to alllow starvation as an option. In my opinion, it should not be an option. There should be a clear law that even with living wills, you cannot choose to be allowed to starve to death. It is absolutely too barbaric to even consider.

She is not in a hospital room, but a hospice room (and she isn't eligible for that; hospices are supposed to be for people who are judged to have less than 6 months to live, and no special care is given). She is not on a respirator for God's sake! You must have read zero about this case if you think she is on a respirator. Why don't you inform yourself?

Additionally, her parents and siblings want to care for her themselves.

This pisses me off more than any other subject I have ever encountered.

So why do you want her dead? It sounds as though you have some unresolved issues about your father that are leaking into Terri's situation. I humbly suggest you look into your own heart and straighten your own issues out.

They are not letting go by not feeding her...they are MURDERING her. It will take her over a WEEK to die....that's HARDLY pulling the plug and she stops breathing.
