A college student group that teaches about bondage and other sexual fetishes has been granted funding by the school's student leaders.

The Iowa State University student body government voted 21-9 yesterday to give $94 to a group called Cuffs, the Des Moines Register reported.

Leaders of the club say they need the money for promotional purposes, to help increase attendance at its meetings.

"Receiving the money is a triumph for diversity," said Cuffs' president, Duane Long Jr., an ISU senior, according to the paper.

Long said members keep their clothes on during demonstrations.

"It's almost clinical," he told the Register.

The university's student body president, Mike Banasiak, explained if a recognized student group meets certain criteria, "we have to consider them for funding."

"They meet the criteria," he said, according to the Des Moines paper.

The speaker of the student Senate, Tony Luken, said he has some personal difficulties with the group, but insisted it deserves the funding because it's a registered student group.

Cuffs is trying to resume its meetings after dissolving last year.

One student told the paper he wasn't sure the group should have been funded.

"I don't really know how you discriminate, where you draw the line," said Leigh Streit, 20, a junior from Gowrie, Iowa.

As WorldNetDaily reported, the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, hosted a special seminar entitled "Bondage 101" to teach participants how to use ropes safely in a sexual context.

I agree, I have no problem with homosexuals but I sure liked it a lot more when they were in the closet. I mean a whole group of LOUD ONES who base their identity on their sexual preferences.
