VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- The rifle found in sniper suspect John Allen Muhammad's car was used in shootings that killed eight people and injured three during last year's sniper spree, and in two earlier slayings, firearms experts testified Thursday.

Why did Hannity and Colmes spend 45 minutes of their program tonight discussing the Scott Peterson hearing and say nary a word about the sniper trial??

Which of the two is really more newsworthy??

CNN: Asteroid to hit Earth in two days.

FOX: Will it delay the Peterson trial?

I like FOX, but some days it's like getting your news in the checkout line at Wal-Mart.

Walter A. Dandridge Jr., a ballistics expert with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified that he examined microscopic markings left on fired bullets, bullet fragments and casings recovered from shooting victims or at crime scenes. Such markings are unique to each individual weapon, he said.

comparable identifying marks from .223 FRAGMENTS?

Yeah, right.

If they were using something like the Winchester 45 grain JHP varmint round, those fragments would have been mighty small, from what I understand.

Now mind you, I think that both the defendants in this case are worse than scum and that a civilized method of execution is better than what IMHO they ought to get.

It'll be interesting to see if the defense brings up any of the known instances where BATFE folks have lied under oath in court to try to discredit this guy-

Their Rifle.
Their ammunition.
The bullets and cases fit the rifle.
Fingerprints on the rifle.
They created a sniper's nest.

Naw, it must have been LBJ's hitmen who killed those people. < Sarcasm >
