Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger will hire a private investigator to look into allegations that he groped women, but he may keep the results from the state attorney general, a spokesman said Thursday.

Schwarzenegger's reluctance to turn over the results of the investigation stem from remarks Attorney General Bill Lockyer made earlier Thursday. The Democrat said he advised Schwarzenegger that the misconduct allegations "are not going to go away" and he should cooperate with an independent investigation.

Yeah, they sure were full of zeal about going after a possible rapist who intimidated sexual harassment lawsuit witnesses. And then when Betty Currie's brother died, they sure howled about that, huh?

Perhaps Arnold's PI can do a little overtime work on Lockyer while he's at it.

Aren't these the same people who crowed, "it's his private life" when Clinton did it?

I'm confused. I thought Lockyer voted for Arnold and is supporting him.

What the heck is all this about?

No need to. There's already a public record. Posted here on FR in the mid 90's.

Maybe Arnold could hire PI Pellacano, former Clinton PI in California. He could use the money, and according to DRUDGE, the FBI already has 2 billion pages from his computer, including illegal wiretap transcripts. Maybe some of the same women accused Clinton. Which Clinton? Take your pick.

Lockyer is a liberal Dem and a member of the Davis administration. He did not support Arnold during the campaign. So I would be surprised if he actually did vote for Arnold. Lockyer's remarks are obviously a typical Dem ploy — both a fishing expedition and a political shove to see how the soon-to-be Republican governor reacts. Notice how they call kept passing the buck down the food-chain, though. Lockyer says an investigation is the district attorney's responsibility. The DA says it's the responsibility of the cops. Just proves that all Lockyer is practicing is the standard Dem version of "bipartisanship."

The last thing the Dems need is to remind folks about the vicious smear campaign they and the LA Times ran. The Dems should be on suicide watch.

The real question that Arnold will have to answer is: What was he groping for?

Uh, being as Lockyer is a Rat, they're looking the other way - as predicted (by me, anyway) the machinations for Recall Number Two are already underway.

Just because Lockyer says he voted for Arnold, doesn't mean he actually did. It's easy to say he did just to ingratiate yourself with the new governor, because he knows there's no way anyone can prove it one way or another. Maybe he did; maby not. But he's a partisan liberal Dem, which makes him untrustworthy in my book, politically speaking.
