The NRA stands fast against lies

As a retired Delaware police captain and 2nd vice president of the National Rifle Association, I am always disheartened when I see lies printed about NRA's concern for the safety of America's police officers.

The NRA will never support anything that endangers the lives of America's law enforcement personnel. No organization supports law enforcement like the NRA.

I am continuing to compile a list of FreeRepublic folks who are interested in RKBA topics. FReepmail me if you want to be added.

Conversely, if you want off my ping-list, let me know.

And my apologies for any redundant pings.

"The people of Great Britain and Australia forgot to use common sense; criminals by definition will not obey the law."

This says it all. Anti-gunners ought to have a sign posted in the front yard of their home that reads, "There are no guns in this home."

Patterson is right.

Only the police and the military have any need for handguns.

BATF(E) criminal scumbags are on the NRA board of directors? No wonder the NRA often seems dazed and confused on "shall not be infringed"!

Bios of perspective Board members are posted in AMERICAN RIFLEMAN/HUNTER well in advance of election. All Life and 5-year-continuous Annual members are permitted to vote for Board members. One can easily determine qualifications/background of whom they vote for.

Sounds like democracy to me.

Bios of current members of NRA Board are viewable @ www.nrawinningteam.com

Yeah, maybe the title of the article should be changed to: "NRA stands quickly alongside of liars."

Dood, I've been a shooter/reloader for over 25 years and an an active "Gun Rights Activist" for over 10...I fled the NRA after they filled their coffers in preparation for the fight against the California Assault Weapons Ban, making their usual wimp-wristed showing in their so-called defense of the Second Amendment.

Just off the top of my head, here's a prime example of the NRA in action...

NRA Attorney:
“YOUR HONOR, WE ARE HERE WANTING TO REGISTER HANDGUNS.”

If you were a pro-gun Rights activist, you would know exactly why the Lawyer said that.

"If you were a pro-gun Rights activist, you would know exactly why the Lawyer said that."

I understand the why some so-called "Pro-gun Rights activists" might think the NRA is doing the "right" thing, but I don't agree with such defeatist stratagems.

Then again, I didn't think placing a proponent of the 1968 Gun Control Act as the President of the NRA was such a hot idea either. ;-)

You say "democracy" as if that were a good thing. Our founding fathers were well aware of the perils inherent in being ruled by the tyranny of the majority, so they formed a republic in order to insure the rights of the minority too. If the majority of fools in the NRA want to restrict themselves to hunting buffalo with slingshots they have that right. Just don't infringe on my God given, inalienable, RKBA!
