National Public Radio Gets Record Gift, Washington Post Says
Nov. 6 (Bloomberg) -- National Public Radio was left $200 million by Joan Kroc, the widow of the founder of the McDonald's Corp. fast-food chain, the Washington Post reported, citing unidentified radio station officials.
It was the biggest-ever donation to the non-profit broadcaster, the newspaper said.
The gift equals almost two years of Washington-based NPR's annual budget, the Post said.
Kroc died of brain cancer at the age of 75 on Oct. 12; although she supported her local NPR affiliate, she had no charitable links with the broadcaster, the paper said.

Cool. Now we can cut public funding...

Why would the wife of a capitalist donate money to socialist liberals who are seeking to destroy her husband's gains through "anti-fat" litigation?

Good for her. Now Congress can completely cut off NPR's taxpayer funding, and the anti-American lefties there can live off their hamburger money instead of stealing it from patriotic Americans.

You'd think she could have thought of dozens, if not hundreds of more worthy causes. She must have held them in hiugh esteem. Arf.

NPR executives will piss away that 200 million faster than a hot knife thru butter. New SUV's, conferences in tax haven nations, a lease with exec-jet, and when there is about a few grand left they will buy some new portraits of themselves(the o'l dead white guys hallway).

Re#17 Yep. OPM's (other people's money) means little to the left. Hopefully, Kroc unknowingly left as a trustee of the trust and grant a closet right winger who will challenge NPR's slant. Oh, to dream....

I'm confident that NPR will decline the offer from the world's most greedy corporate animal killers. McDonald's guilt money is too tainted to accept.
Isn't it?
