[history]
As the number of deaths and injuries in Iraq continues to escalate, Democratic presidential candidate Dick Gephardt said Wednesday he's "furious" at President Bush for not getting the United Nations to help.
"We're getting people hurt every day, killed every day," Gephardt told a group of about 75 Democrats in Boone. "It's costing a billion dollars a week, four billion dollars a month. And he still can't figure out how to get to the U.N., how to get to NATO to get the help that we need."

Do you mean, Dick, the same United Nations who cut and ran after their compound was bombed because they were too stupid to secure it properly? And you want these same nimrods to "help" us out in Iraq?

Dick and his close knit pack of liberals are the exact reason why we have to stay vigillant and see this war on terrorism through to the end. We should never pull out.
I guess Dick has not read or heard about the result of the pull out in Viet Nam. What an eff'n idiot.
Yeah, lets sit on our hands and, oh maybe the Islamic terrorists will just leave us alone. Tell me, who voted this ahole into office?

For decades the UN "Blue Hats" were posted everywhere from Lebanon to the Sinai to keep the peace between Israel and Palestinians. They didn't. Gephardt should at least be honest, given the fact that the UN is a hollow shell; he should admit he is unhappy that we don't have the military support of France, Germany and Russia. In reality, that untrustworthy triad is the "UN" Gephardt refers to.

I think (and hope) for several surprises in the upcoming elections. I think the very foundation of democratic voters is unhappy with their leaders. The Dem leadership has gone wacko. Ask Zell, he'll tell ya.

So why doesn't "little dick" go to the UN and demand it.
These people are sick and evil.

Remember that
eveything the dems do is for political gains first. If they would use intel as a political tool, they would sure use anything as a political tool
I wish the FIRST response to ANY dem statement were to recognize that the dem statement is for political gain only.
It has come true that dem leadership would rather see American deaths in Iraq so that they can gain political power. It has come true that dem leadership would rather see terrorism continue so that they can gain political power.
The next year will have some mighty turbulent times. IMO part of it will be spies discovered in our government.

Dip Geckhardt says stuff like this because he knows no one will stand up to him and say, "Um, Mr. Dickheart, Bush just WENT to the UN demanding help. Not only did they refuse, they pulled most of their people OUT of Gaghdad."
When the media is your friend - bought off by years of free peeled shrimp and open bars - you can say ANYTHING and never get challenged.

"Where'd ya get dat peeled shrimp ?" After many years in the media (now retired from it), I've come to the conclusion that free peeled shrimp is the Number One Way To Influence Reporters. The open bar is #2.
This goes all the way down the food chain to the local lowly beat reporters. They are amongst the lowest paid pipple in the media, and free food will almost always get them to write a positive story. To lowly cub reporters, shrimp is a distinct luxury. Already peeled shrimp is nirvana. Almost every guy and gal near the top of the news bidness today was once a starving cub reporter, stretching their mac-and-cheese food budget by scarfing down whatever food was set out at various news conferences. I've been to a number of them myself, way back when.
The pattern was obvious to me. Republicans called news conferences and served up ideas. Dems set out cold shrimp for the reporters. OK, there was some chunks of cheese, some tiny roast biff sammiches (with nothing on them and not a tub of mayo in sight), that kind of stuff. But the shrimp was everywhere. One call to some deli and a party flunkette can pick up a ready-made Reporter Repast.
I sincerely hope that the GOP has learned to feed the press better. That was the one thing the Dems were always best at - feeding reporters and setting up an open bar.
Did I mention that they always had lots of peeled shrimp?
