Jindal Campaign: "The Truth Matters, No More Making Things Up"

The Truth Matters No more making things up

Tuesday provided yet another of at least three egregious examples in the past weeks of Kathleen Blanco simply making up allegations out of thin air, and then offering no proof or substantiation to back up her allegations. The latest example came in today’s Times Picayune, when Kathleen Blanco “was unable to produce evidence” and “offered conflicting explanations” about her allegations that “Republican truth squad" television ad was airing and attacking her.

The three known egregious examples are:

1) On Sunday’s statewide television debate, Blanco attacked Jindal by asserting that he had aired a television ad from something she called “The Republican Truth Squad”. Blanco said during the debate, “On your television ads right now it says, 'Paid for by the Republican Truth Squad.' It has your face, your voice and you are directly involved in the making of those ads -- so please tell us about the Republican Truth Squad.”

Jindal responded by saying that he had no idea what she was talking about. The Times-Picayune today ran an article with a headline that reads, “Blanco backs off remarks about ‘truth squad’ ads”. It appears obvious that this entire thing was totally fabricated by Lt. Governor Blanco. No one has heard or seen any such ad. The ad doesn’t exist.

2) Kathleen Blanco has run radio advertisements on Urban radio stations alleging that Jindal does not want people to go out and vote. When challenged to back up this charge, she won’t even respond. She can’t back up the claim because it is false.

3) In the Oct. 23 Shreveport Times, Kathleen Blanco asserted that Bobby’s decisions at DHH resulted in “…fewer doctors accepting Medicaid patients because payments are lower than their basic overhead.” The claim is false. The number of participating physicians has actually increased every year since 1996. “Even though it is late in the campaign, candidates still have the responsibility to speak truthfully,” said Jindal, outside of Charity Hospital in New Orleans today. “This is the minimum the voters should expect and demand from their next Governor. You can’t just make things up and say anything in order to try to win an election. This is precisely the kind of thing that makes people cynical about politics and that turns them [ off. Integrity and honesty is far more important than politics.”

Their Democrats, they always make things up.

Democrats even lie for no reason. They just lie to get their lie fix. It's their addiction.

Maybe Dean will claim that he invented ketchup and say that Kerry owes him tens of millions in royalties?

What's so bothersome and dangerous about Louisiana politics is the very effective New Orleans liberal machine that can change elections on a dime. There is something very corrupt going on in that parish when a single phone call to Cleo can swing an election outcome in a matter of hours.

And, I know this has long been history, but I have no doubt Woody Jenkins' senatorial chances were was shredded to pieces by the Orleans "machine."

I don't care what Nagin does for the rest of his term, the man earned my utmost respect for crossing the political machine and endorsing Jindal. You know he stepped on some big toes when Miss Mary took to the airwaves to repudiate his endorsement of Jindal.

Yup. You all are about as tired of stereo-types as we Texans. Your not a bunch of barefoot cajuns living in swamps, catching fish with vare hands and cooking anything that squirms. That is something I can gar-On-Tee

lying landrieu

She nailed her opponant with the sugar lie? It was the Democrats trying to import sugar, and add on the fat tax, not the Republicans.
I hope Jindal has done his homework. The Dems will be desperate after Kentucky and Mississippi.
It's important Jindal mention terrorism as much as possable, but do it matter of factly, or "off the cuff." He can use, subliminally, the fact that Blanco has the support of ME groups - who, BTW, have NOT denounced terrorism. I believe, deep in the hearts of all Americans, the fear of terrorist cells is still alive and well. He has to be as gental as a dove, yet as wise as a serpant when using this tactic.
