Freepers to Meet at Veterans Day Parade, NYC
Nov. 5, 2003 | firebrand

Posted on 11/05/2003 7:53:20 PM PST by firebrand

The Veterans Day Parade in New York City will start at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2003, at 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue and proceed to 46th Street.

Earlier, there will be a ceremony at 23rd-26th Street.

Even earlier, there will be ceremonies starting at 7 a.m.

Free Republic members and others who wish to join an enthusiastic Support the Troops gathering at the parade, please meet in front of the Starbucks at the southwest corner of 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue, at 10:30 a.m.

We will have a sign this time, so we can be found!

That evening, for those who can stick around (or come back later), Laura Ingraham will be doing a live radio broadcast. Information on getting tickets to follow.

Bring your flags and come on down (or up). It's always a good time to support our troops, but this may be a particularly important time.

The Veterans Day Parade - What better place for a 'Support Our Troops' rally? :-)

There's actually a chance I might be able to make this one... we may be in the city that day. I'll let you know as it gets closer to Tuesday.

Sounds great! I'm going to see if I can rearrange some things so I can go to the parade in NYC this year with Freepers rather than on Long Island.

I might even bring my son in his Uncle Sam outfit.

To try to get tickets for Laura's live radio braodcast on WABC, go to http://www.lauraingraham.com and click on the New York event on the left side. You can order up to 4 tickets.

Here's a better link:

United War Veterans Council of New York City

Sounds like a good idea to get there in time for the church bells ringing all over the city (11 a.m.), if not before (10:15), for the ceremony at 23rd Street.

Bill O'Reilly is signing books at the 48th Street Barnes & Noble at 1 p.m., but I'm not sure the timing is right for this one.

There are now flyers all over the place in Midtown announcing the parade. Hope you can make it.

Place: 33rd and Fifth, in front of Starbucks
Time: 10:30

Look for the Free Republic sign.

Veterans' Day bump

Everyone who attends gets a free Support the Troops T-shirt, donated by NYCop and designed by his brother.

Well, our plans fell though... unfortunately we will not be able to join you at the parade in NYC tomorrow.

Thank you to all of you who will be out there tomorrow showing support for our troops and saluting our veterans.
