Now that's just crazy talk. No need to do anything desperate. I'm sure you're right & Toby will win one.

An Austinite huh? Don't know how you feel about him, but, Jerry Jeff Walker is THE man. Been a huge fan of him since the 70's. Some of his songs really hit home with me and he's my "healing" music when I need it. OHHH GREAT. Now I have to buy two CD's to help with my country music education. You are an expensive person to exchange posts with. :) Please, no more suggestions else I'll be eating mac and cheese for the rest of the week.

Glad I could help... lol.
You won't find any Jerry Jeff cd's at Walmart. That'll take Best Buy or something like that... Wait... if you're in Austin you should be able to find JJW cd's anywhere. My suggestion is either "Gypsy Songman" or his great double album from the 70's, "A Man Must Carry On".

I just got home and don't have time to read the thread. Did I miss him? And has he won anything yet?!

Watching these award shows once a year gets me itching and riled up. I'm going to Luckenback this weekend. I'll be feeling no pain :)

I have the album and it's good, but it's not spectacular. 'Unchained' back in the '90s was phenomenal and better than this one, IMO. I really think the CMA is trying to make up for screwing him over all those years he was putting out quality stuff. Kinda like Denzel winning best actor last year.
Check out:
http://www.johnnycash.com/awards.htm Other than his 1980 Hall of Fame Induction, he last won at the CMAs in 1969? What a load of ****.

I've been to Key West and Miami.I'm guessing it was in the Spring, sometime in early March.
To: Stewart_B
sigh. It's ok. You don't have to listen to the Dixie Chicks.
Hope they bring Reba back to host next year.

Toby Keith was robbed.
In virtually every category, the second rate talent won.

Shania is Canadian and lives in Switzerland so no surprise. She says she lives there to have a relatively normal life. She says she can go to the supermarket or walk her baby without being beseiged.

Not really... I can think of many many people in the business that have more talent in their little finger's than Toby Keith has in his whole family, and they've never won a CMA award.

At least we (left coast residents) aren't up until almost midnight watching Monday Night Football.

"Not really... I can think of many many people in the business that have more talent in their little finger's than Toby Keith has in his whole family, and they've never won a CMA award. "Too bad they weren't nominated, then. Maybe the CMAs want to make Keith another Cash. At least Keith writes his own stuff, better than those pretty boys Chesney and McGraw. G'night.
