I have seen him a bunch of times at outdoor theaters, the parking lot party outshines the show. But, he opened up a restaraunt in Downers Grove IL on Tuesday. Monday there was a charity benefit that I was lucky enough to win tickets to. He came in and played. What a great time, in a bar with around 200 people, definately a great experience. Too bad about his politics though.

I guess I'm different, I can usually seperate someone's politics from their music. JB has made so much music that both touches my heart and allows me to escape in my mind to the tropics that his politics just don't matter to me.
To: TruBluKentuckian
Oh, I totally agree. I love the beach, parrothead themes. We get a bus every year to go to his concerts. He is the reason I never say I will boycott someone just because of their politics.

I saw that on Bab's website. She failed to mention that the Dixie Chicks had sold out their tour before Natatlie opened up her big fat trap! I hope they get booed tonight!

She claims the Dixie Chicks are more popular then ever Must be on those rock-n-roll stations....LOL cause they sure ain't getting air time on the Country stations around here.
To: ElRushbo
Must have picked up some of the anti- American idiots. Could barely stand them before (wake up- Natalie isn't that talented). Can't stand them now.

Patsy, Haggard, Jennings, Hank Williams, Cash, Wynette, etc.--that's CW---they were country.
These Hollywood wannabe's we don't much care for around here---this "new" country stuff (except for a very few)sounds all alike.

I love Johnny Cash. But this is not right.
Give him a lifetime award, give him the great big tribute that he deserves. Then give these awards out for *this* year as they are supposed to be.
To: ThePointer
I agree Toby Keith should have won Album of the year

You think that's bad, the Johnny Cash memorial show is going to have tim robbins hosting and cheryl crow performing. Also, there are no public tickets

Huh?
First off, the song and album he's been nominated for WERE recorded and released in the nominating period for "this" year.
Secondly, the awards are deserved and he probably would have won them even if he hadn't died. That album is astonishing.
To: sticker
whens the last time you have watched a country music show where half the guys are dressed in pinstrip dress pants. Country Music aint the same

Yep. The man in black will be missed.

Well then this casual observer of country music will have to go out and get the album. Thanks for the tip.
No sarcasm intended. My exposure to this musical genre is CMT top twenty and some local stations and I haven't been exposed to any of JC's new material. I'll check it out.
But his greatest hits CD is almost burned out and I'll need to replace it :)
