Hizbullah Feeds Its Viewers More Anti-Semitism

Hizbullah's Al-Manar television station has begin broadcasting a virulently anti-Semitic documentary entitled "The Diaspora," purporting to depict the history of Zionism and the State of Israel.

The 26-part series, produced in Syria, shows actors, dressed mostly in black Hassidic-looking garb, plotting and scheming to steal lands and murder Arabs. The first chapter shows the patriarch of the Rothschild family "dividing up" the various nations for his sons to rule.

The United States complained to the governments of Lebanon and Syria, as it did last year to the Egyptian government when a similar series played there, but to no avail. The State Department explained that the documentary is objectionable because it incorporates elements of the "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion," an infamous 19th-century anti-Semitic forgery.

The promotional literature for the series says that it "shows us how Jews don't refrain from... committing the worst crimes against all those, Jews or non-Jews, who stand in the way of the Jewish dream and their project." The Simon Wiesenthal Center said the airing of the program was "yet another chapter in the campaign to de-legitimize Jews," and fears that it is meant to stoke hatred toward Jews among its viewers.

That's strange - I don't remember hearing Barbra Streisand being "deeply disappointed" that the United States tried to prevent this from being broadcast...

But, imagine if Al-Manar had caved in to the US request. I can just hear the words that Streisand would have spoken (or published on her blog) - "I am deeply disappointed that Al-Manar has caved in to right wing Republican pressure to cancel the network broadcast of the movie entitled "The Diaspora". (And I say MOVIE - because this is NOT a documentary - it's a television drama.)"

Oops, that was what she was saying about the flap over the CBS "The Reagans" biopic... Never mind...

It does seem strange. Since the US government gave her son HIV, you'd think she'd say something about the same government wanting to restrict the arti-sic value of Syrian TV.

I have heard that at the UN (com) Post that is East of Metullah (on the edge of what the Hiz calls the Shabaa farms that there is a large poster that hangs from a UN watchtower. One of the IDF soldiers that escaped the Hizbollah kidnapping (if you recall, 3 IDF were captured, 1 killed, 2 still kidnapped) has said that his best friend was the one that was killed--also, that the UN soldiers did nothing when the kidnapping occured but watch. The large poster that hangs from the UN is a picture of the IDF soldier's head being held up--the caption below is "this is what happens to the IDF-one down, two to go.) This is a fact, and I hope to have pictures soon--the person that took the pictures has had trouble getting any of our media to print them.

If you'd like to be on or off this middle east/political ping list, please FR mail me.

Remakes of the Protocols are becoming quite popular.
