Thanks for the notice on the DOSE thread, oWf! You've created SUCH a beautiful tribute to one of the finest couples in America. --Course W has had great "training." His parents are wonderful!
I think this is my favorite picture of the two of you, W & Laura:
because it shows a real, down-to-earth day in the lives of two people who clearly love each other. --Just walkin' the trails of live, together.
Happy Anniversary George & Laura...thank you both so much for your dedication and service to this Country, even on such a special day for you both!
Much love,
NordP - A proud Precinct Captain for your re-election!!!

Dear President and Mrs. Bush,
It was my delight to be present when you were in South Carolina in February 2002, on your way from Hilton Head to Aiken.
You paused in Barnwell, SC, our small hotbed of conservatives, and received a most enthusiastic welcome, as you might remember, speaking from the back of a pickup truck in the Circle by the County Courthouse.
It was a thrill of a lifetime when you paused in front of me and whipped up your pen to autograph the lapel sign I generated on the computer - VETERAN for BUSH.
I served proudly in the United States Marine Corps as a classroom instructor for women recruits at Parris Island during the Korean Conflict, and was Guidon Bearer for "A" Company (of eight full companies) when the Iwo Jima Monument was dedicated there in 1952.
My husband served in Korea and Southeast Asia.
That week, South Carolina proudly gave you your first Primary Victory on the road to the White House!
You have our respect, and confidence in your heart for our America, willing to counter evil in whatever form it is presented.
Stay the course with more ease, Mr. President, knowing how many of us out here are behind you, as you lead us with God's counsel.
Happy Anniversary to you, and may God bless you and your family now and forevermore.
With gratitude,
LadyX

Oh, man. What an opportunity to bring this back from the archives.
MIDI - TELL LAURA I LOVE HER
She stood with him when the times were bad
He knows that he made her sad
But he changed his life
For his young daughters and his wife
This campaign had been very rough
They had proven theyre tough enough
He got the word...they heard him shout
"Ive got to get a message out"
"Tell Laura I love her
tell Laura I need her
Though shes packed, shell have to wait
Before we move, Ill fumigate"
Hed been there when dad had proudly served
Like a rock he never swerved
Lessons learned will serve him well
Respect will come from the truth you tell
When they showed him around the place
Theres a troubled look on his face
Then he yelled out loud and clear
"What were those scumbags doing here?"
"Tell Laura I love her
tell Laura I need her
Though shes packed, shell have to wait
Before we move, Ill fumigate"
Hes sickened by the White House sinks
Wonders what Willys daughter thinks
Rapist slime and evil wench
He must remove this awful stench
"Tell Laura I love her
tell Laura I need her
Though shes packed, shell have to wait
Before we move, Ill fumigate"
"Tell Laura I love her
tell Laura I need her
Though shes packed, shell have to wait
Before we move, Ill fumigate"

Dear President Bush and Laura, I'd like to wish you a VERY happy Anniversary. There aren't words to express the gratitude I have for the two of you, for the way you've restored dignity to the White House and to our country.
I have a grandchild who I used to shield from the news due to the nature of things. No longer is that the case. He's a die-hard Republican Bush Bot, and proud of it. He asks about things politically that a child (probably) wouldn't normally ask about....you both have made it so easy for me to talk about politics with him.
God bless you. God bless your marriage, your family and your lives. Thank you for being the leaders you are.

Ahhhhhhhhh....I 'wuved' this tribute to our President and our First Lady!
The words and pictures leap from the page and revealing the love they have for each other and the love we have for them!
Thank you Father for this wonderful pair and thank you, Rintense and OhioWfan, for this moving and joyous tribute on the occasion of our President and First Lady's 26th Anniversary.

Thanks, but my role was minor- I just did the layout. OWF wrote the beautiful tribute!

Thank you all for your wonderful contributions to this thread.......doug, your song was GREAT! I wasn't around when that went around the first time.
I have sent the thread to the White House (several ways), and have drawn attention to it, so that it (hopefully) gets to the President and First Lady.
Remember......next year, our gift is the Election!

I agree with Barbara Bush, Laura and George are two people we can all be proud of, beside his having the stature of Churchill and she the grace of my mother, they have my congratulations and best wishes for a long life together ...rto
