Is anyone listening to Hannity? He just read a memo from a dem party staffer (i think) on the select committe on intelligence (or some such), which, as he describes it, shows the the dem committe members are pre-planning a political assault on the pres. and care nothing for our security, which is their job.
He's acting like this is the hottest scoop since I don't know what, I'm at work so I'm only 1/2 listening, plus he read the whole thing which seemed to be a least 2 pages long, a little tough to follow being in beaurocrat-speak.
Is this really important? And will this story grow legs?

Nothing in this memo suggests they are going to use classified information against the President. Basically, it says they're going on a fishing expedition, looking for evidence that the administration exaggerated or distorted intelligence claims about Iraq. And, as an earlier poster noted, they can spin it to look like they are working on behalf of the American people to expose lying by the administration. Clinton used the same info to bomb Iraq. We should drag that out before the people, plus the Democrats quotes who supported him.
To: Steve_Seattle
Who declassifies? Because if the senate can declassify its own intell product...Surely you can see the can of worms this opens, can't you? Especially if the Pubbies on the committee are little more than useful idiots.
To: Mo1
Sean knew more than Roberts. Good gad.
To: onyx
Fox News downplayed it so we'll have to wait to see if Sean will reveal who gave it to him and who wrote it.

That's the whole point of this leaked memo. That the independent investigation was unavoidable and politically motivated, and it's in writing, so it's now undeniable. Whoever was stupid enough to write that down should be drummed out of politics.
There will be no independent investigation now, that's the outcome.
I dunno if that was Hannity's true goal, but that's the role he's played.

things have degenerated to the point to where this is business as usual during wartime, God help usYou are correct, they treat it almost as a JOKE. The really SAD thing is that BRIT'S show is the best that TV has to offer, IMHO

The SUMMARY in the memo says this, which REVEALS the whole purpose of the memo:
"SUMMARY: Intelligence issues are clearly secondary to the public's concern regarding the insurgency in Iraq. Yet we have an important role to play in revealing the misleading, if not flagrantly dishonest, methods and motives of senior administration officials who made the case for unilateral preemptive war."

You give the dems too much credit.

If things have degenerated to the point to where this is business as usual during wartime, God help usAs this memo demonstrates, it has degenerated to that point, as least for the Democrats. (changing tagline in disgust!) Prairie

A great scoop.
Will it have legs?
Only with Hannity and us, the major media will ignore it, as they will be part of it.

I think Sean will not say one word regarding his "source" --- he'll trap the lying democrats.
Can you imagine the committee members vetting their respective staffs as I type this? Like roaches running when the lights come on.

Sean has a copy of the original. It has a header on the top of the paper. He knows who's office it came from.
You know this for sure? If so, this is hugh and very series!!!
To: Dog
It will all depend on how it gets handled by talk radio. The press can say all it wants about how this is just politics as usual but the fact remains: the RATS are attempting to destroy a President fighting a war at the expense of the security of the country. This plot is disgusting, dangerous and unethical at the very least.

Sean said there would be more on H&C tonight...perhaps he'll address this further now that the Fox panel has shrugged over it.
To: Dog
Did you hear him (Roberts) on Hannity?

At a time when American soldiers are dying on an almost daily basis, this politicization of the Iraq situation may not sit well with the public. Absofrikinlutely.
