If being a conservative means I believe Montel Williams, Jeb Bush's daughter, Rush Limbaugh, Aaron Sorkin and millions of college students should be in prison breaking rocks then I guess I am not a true conservative.

You know, I think you're right. This "War on Drugs" is starting to wear a little thin for me, too.

If a grownup wants to smoke pot, who cares?

Should college students that smoke pot go to prison? Do you believe in the Government’s War on Drugs?

That's right. Kids should be steered clear of drugs, just like they are steered clear of alcohol (puleeze) and cigarettes (double puleeze). Adults on the other hand...

Anyone with half a brain understands the calculus involved. Pot is less harmful that alcohol and cigarettes. Alcohol and cigarettes require some degree of manufacturing skill and therefore can be marketed. MJ on the other hand requires little or no skill to cultivate.

MJ is the Kazaa to alchohol's Anheuser Busch. Can't have that. Money talks as usual.

Does it help him keep his cool when he realizes that he forgets where he's going? ;-)

And your FR screen name helps your above italicized arguement (sp), how?

And your question addresses his argument, how?

Both. He was an enlisted Marine, then went to OCS and became a Naval Officer.

Uh, dude, in your reply in #75 you were the one who stated that "millions of college students were in prison and breaking rocks".

Get back to me when you have the monkey of hyperbole off your back.

JMO, but I will be waiting as long for Hillary to get the same monkey off her back.

No, the charges just aren't pressed. Read up Dane, maybe you'll learn something. No reason to spend all your life so poorly informed.

An exerpt from today's show

Anti-smoking campaigner Barb Tarbox began each speech she gave with, "You're looking at the world's biggest idiot!" She began smoking as an adolescent and died from lung cancer at the young age of 41. This is her story.

How ironic...

From the website at www.norml.org:

The penalty for the use of marijuana is up to 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $100.

Possession of marijuana in any amount is punishable by up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000, unless the possession occurred in a public or private park, which increases the penalty to a possible 2 years in prison.

Conditional discharge is available in all use and possession cases.

Conditional release: [Michigan] allows conditional release or alternative or diversion sentencing for people facing their first prosecutions. Usually, conditional release lets a person opt for probation rather than trial. After successfully completing probation, the individual's criminal record does not reflect the charge.

My experience on FR for the last five years from hard core Libertarians, is that reading what the monkey on the FR Libertarins back means nothing except pure idelogical nonsense.

Why would anyone carry illegal drugs into the airport?

Believe it or not, Winston Day, the ex-dean (but still a member of the faculty) of LSU Law School, was busted carrying pot in the Atlanta airport. Supposedly he got caught when he went to pet the drug sniffing dog (he got nervous when he saw the dog and thought making friends would keep the dog from barking at him).

Then the justice system needs to be changed, not the laws.

I've heard that for 30+ years, the connected still walk and the drug warriors still make excuses for it.

"You can't, but it seems that hyperbole is your drug of choice , and I am not surprised, hyperbole seems to be the drug of choice of Libertarians on FR."

An excellent example of hyperbole. With extra points for actually using the word in the example.

My stepson was fined for smoking a joint. It was something like $150. This was five years ago.

Uh dude, show me where I stated the hyperbolic statement that millions of college students are breaking rocks in prison?

You can't, but what the hey you would never point the fickle finger of fate towards your comrade, jsbankston, who actually made the hyperbolic statement on this thread, with his reply #75.
