It just makes me feel safer that Detroit Airport Security is looking for Montel's pot instead of Mohammads box cutter.

That was a 90 pound mole...

Not that I'm about to do any research, but I have heard that it is less risky to have illegal drugs on your person or your carry-on lugage than it is to have it in your checked bags And your FR screen name helps your above italicized arguement, how?

No Rush apololgist here. If he broke the law and obtained prescription drugs illegally, then he should pay the price. Celebrity does not mean impunity from the law. Do I want Rush to get better? Yes I do. But I also want the law to be followed and enforced.
Same thing with Montell. I like him, thank him for his service to our country and his community, but if he broke the law, he should pay the price just like everyone else.

Looking for Mohammads box cutter is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Myrtle and Fern are more likely to be relieved of their nose-hair clippers.

Same airport where Oprah was busted for 40 pounds of crack.
I thought that would be an indecent exposure and not substance abuse issue...;^)

Mr. Williams began his professional career in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1974, when he enlisted after graduating high school in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. After six months, he was meritoriously promoted twice, and in 1975, became the first black Marine selected to the Naval Academy Prep School who then went on to graduate from the Naval Academy. Upon graduation, he received a presidential appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. While at Annapolis, Mr. Williams studied Mandarin Chinese and graduated with a degree in General Engineering and a minor in International Security Affairs.

From his biography at the website for the Montel Williams Show:
Montel has been sending his pro-school, anti-drug message to kids and teenagers since he began his career as a motivational speaker. In 1996 he directed two anti-drug public service announcements that were distributed by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, in the Executive Office of the President.
Williams made his directorial debut with the anti-drug Public Service Announcements he made for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, in the Executive Office of the President.
As an officer in the Navy, Montel was responsible for shipping men to sea for up to 180 days at a time. Recognizing the strain this placed on them and their families, he began informally counseling the servicemen in his command and their wives. As a result, he was asked to speak to a local group of kids in Kansas City, MO where, in the charismatic, no-nonsense style that has come to define him, he addressed the importance of staying off drugs and staying in school.

...Continuation of post 56:
...He was then selected as special duty intelligence officer, specializing in cryptology.
Honorably decorated, Mr. Williams has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout his varied naval career. He has been awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, two Navy Expeditionary Medals, two Humanitarian Service Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, two Navy Commendation Medals and two Meritorious Service Awards - the latter of which is rarely awarded twice.
