"Order by post time" rocks. "Order by relevance" sucks.

I second that motion. Time is the essence.

My son deserves it...hehe.

As Bill Cosby said, "The reason Grandparents and Grandchildren get along so well is because they have a common enemy."

My most common search is for an article I remember reading recently but can only remember maybe one key word that was probably in the title. Relevance search always finds articles that are too old and the first thing I do is switch to time ordered and search again.

Obviously you can set it up how you want but, IMO, it leads to extra load on the servers.

I spent some time just the other day trying to find a way to change this in my preferences but of course it's not there.

We get the same stuff in our gutters, except we don't have oak trees here. But, we have tons of pinecones. Our main problem is our downspouts. The get clogged with leaves, pine needles, those little 'fleur de lis' looking stuff from the birch trees, and lots of other interesting tree stuff. In the spring, it's bad because the birds think they can make nests over the top of the downspout openinging. I always hate removing the nests, but, when a big rain comes, the little birds would just be washed awaw. Another problem we have is chipmunks. Alvin, Simon and Theodore would store their goodies in the downspouts. That's been a hugh problem for us. I finally bought a live trap and relocated them. I hope they are happier now. The dogs used to chase them all over the place. Of course, our dogs are not hunters, but they give it a good try. They have never managed to catch a 'chippy'. But they sure enjoy the chase. I'm glad to know about the gutter helmets though. We won't waste our money. But we do have to get out and clean the gutters regularly, otherwise, they they overflow. I'd hate to create a basement problem. Our basement is in good shape. I would be a drag to have to have that reconstructed. But we live on a high ridge, and the water flows away real nice. We have a neat place. There is a depression about 300 yards behind our house that makes a great ice skating rink, and just beyond that, there is a huge hill, perfect for sledding and tubing. The kids still love it. As long as they get permission from the farmer next door. They are good neighbors, and we don't even have a fence. They take their trucks out back and go mudding a couple times a year. We also make great bon fires. In winter, when we get a lot of snow, we have to shovel our roof. I had a friend whose roof pulled away from the walls due to ice. A good trick for removing dry leaves and tree stuff is to take the lawn blower on the roof and just blast the stuff right off the roof. It works great! We have trouble with old folks and driving around here. They really are a hazzard. Not the compentant ones, but the ones who pull out into oncoming traffic and wait until there are virtually no cars in site, then creep out. What's with old people and cadalics? They can barely see over the steering wheel. And, they drive 15 miles an hour. Of course, I always get stuck behind them, no matter the time of day or night. And don't you love it when you're at a check out and they have to search for the exact correct change? Their frail old fingers can barely open the coin purse, which they all have, they can't pick up the coins, and if the bill is say, 19.73, they can't just use a 20. Then if they don't have enough in their coin purse, they have to check purses, pockets or wallets for that elusive penny. I really hope when I'm that old, I don't function that way.

Thanks for the overwhelming "yes" vote on this.

I think it's important.

Even though "this topic has been posted before" - can anyone honestly tell me that this topic is OVER-represented on FR?

I don't think so.

Idiots. My mother saw Babe Ruth play there. They keep every other POS structure in town.

For something like the Terri threads, the default search is about as helpful as 2-week-old bread.

You got that right! If you do the default search (by relevance), using the word "Schiavo" you'll see that nothing relevant has happened in the case since October 19th. In the meantime, an emergency session of state legislature intervened in a court decision, created a new law that's about to be tried for its constitutionality, and is being argued by attorneys for Jeb Bush vs the ACLU! That's pretty darn relevant in my opinion, though a "relevance" search hides these events.

I get my hair cut at the Navy Exchange barber shop on base. There are 6 regular barbers-2 older Japanese ladies, 2 middle aged Philippinas, an older Japanese man and a younger philippino man. I like the Japanese ladies best. They ask me what kind of haircut I want and all I have to say is "regular-short" and I get a perfect haircut. They always make sure all the cut hair is brushed off. You might say "Of course they would, that's part of a haircut". But last time I went I had one the Philippinas cut my hair and after I stood up I brushed my hand across my head and several large pieces of cut hair fell on the floor. It was annoying to say the least. When the Japanese ladies are finished cutting and brushing they always give you a nice neck massage. Very soothing. My haircuts cost $6.75 for a long time but last time it was $7.25 because they the price is actually based on yen and lately the dollar has dropped quite a bit. Many years ago they used to use hot lather and a strait razor to clean up the edges all around. Ahhh-those were real haircuts. The hot lather was wonderful. But they can't do that anymore because now everyone is afraid of cuts from strait razors and AIDS. My gutters don't get full of leaves because there are no trees close enough to fill them. I would trade leaf-filled gutters for trees.

Why does toothpaste taste so terrible after drinking orange juice?

Go to "Health Food Store."

Locate "Tom's All Natural Toothpaste."

Determine which flavors do NOT contain fluoride, (neurotoxic and is attracted by damaged tissue!) which ones do.

Purchase tube of Tom's All Natural Toothpaste, non-fluoridated variety.

Enjoy all things after brushing.
