I wonder if I am eating too much cheese for "induction". I have been eating bucketloads of cheese. My basic regimen last few weeks has been steak and eggs for breakfast (love that!), a meat salad for lunch ( little bit of greens, lots of meat and cheese), and when I get home, some pepperoni slices to snack on while I cook up two or three burgers, which I serve with mozz cheese and just a little bit of low carb tomato sauce. I do drink soda, but I drink a lot of water during the day.
OK, a couple of times I had a teeny handful of nuts. And I have only lost a couple of pounds in 2.5 weeks. I weighed in as low as 175.5 once, but it hopped back up to 177.

Hmmm. I have read Atkins book, and I didn't get the impression that one could eat unlimited abouts. He said to eat until satisfied, but not "stuffed". He talked about "portions". A portion of hard cheese is about the size of a pair of dice. maybe your unlimited calorie intake as you mentioned in an earlier post is causing your frustration with the inability to lose additional weight?

maximum of 4 oz of cheese is allowed on induction. That's about 1/2 a cup. I think there's 1 carb per ounce.
Try cutting out the cheese and see what happens! Did you check the carb content of the pepperoni slices? Might have some hidden carbs there. I try to stay away from deli meats.

Induction is pretty strict, but it's my belief that it functions more as cold turkey than weight loss. You're coming "off" the carb habit. And one of the reasons that Atkins says "if you're hungry, eat" is that carb addicts are always ravenous. When I started, I ate a lot more than I eat now--enormous breakfasts of steak, eggs and mushrooms, chicken salads for lunch, etc.
Now I can't believe I ate that much--but I think it was the carb cravings. You won't lose weight that fast if your caloric intake is high, but you'll lose the carb cravings which will set you up for future weight loss. No one loved taters and homemade bread more than I did--and now I can leave them alone, or have a small portion as a treat.
Make sure you've cut out all the sugar. When I stopped putting a teaspoon of sugar in my morning coffee, I dropped three pounds in one weekend. This after a month-long plateau where I lost nothing.
