I been low carbing for a couple of weeks now. Less than 20 grams a day. I've dropped a total of 2 lbs. My body freakin' insists on being 177-179 lbs, not matter what I do these days. I am off to the gym now.

Try the South Beach Diet. You get carbs, but they are good carbs, and you're not eating as much saturated fat as you do on Atkins.
I'm on week two of Phase I, and I've lost weight.

I haven't dropped much either - I'm led to understand the caffeine is helping me keep it on. However, I'd rather saw off a leg than give up Diet Coke.

Tell me about it. I'm 5'8" and 190 lbs. I don't have the willpower for Atkins. However I think it's fantastic it worked out well for this couple.

Have you found that following Atkins (or other low-carb diets) is harder on your food budget than other diets? I mean, I would definitely try it if I could afford it. We're supporting five people on one income, and right now we eat lots of pasta, beans, peanut butter sandwiches because they don't cost a lot. What kinds of things would be substitute here? Are you really eating tons more MEAT or are beans/nuts/other proteins OK?

That's the way my body is doing. Just insisting on being
at between 177-179 lbs. & shows signs of wanting to go on
up to 180. Bread really ruins my eating regimen and will
pack on the lbs. real fast. However, I've tried the low
carb diet and get real tired of it and fall off the wagon.
Med side effects. Fluid retention & stomach irritation due
to meds. Seems like every new one you try has its own side
effects. Wish I could find something natural that would
control my blood pressure & get my weight down.

I've been on Atkins for about 1 month.....I've knocked off a few pounds....I only want to loose ten but I've noticed that I've been getting stomach pains??????? I think it's this diet so I decided to just cut down on carbs....no crotons, no ww pizza,no pasta.....I do use the Atkins bread which is great for grilled cheese sandwiches and PB&J......Now I hear that there's a low carb beer from Miller so I may try that and see how it tastes.....good luck to you.....
