I asked my husband about the duct tape. He is in construction. It does come in different colors, but he said 99% of what people buy is the gray.

I have the gray also. I used it just yesterday to fix a rag to a mop handle so I could attack an out of reach spider web.

I tried to tear off a piece without getting fingerprints on both pieces. I couldn't do it. Hopefully his prints are on both!
