.....and we don't know if she is in pain. When they inserted a feeding tube on my dad when he had some his many heart attacks, he said it hurts so bad when they force that tube down your throat. He was a big huge man, 6'4" and over 200 lbs. and he cried every time he had to have a feeding tube. He begged them not to put it in. And thanks to Terry's husband, they had to take it out and put it back in, IF it is the kind that goes down the throat. I suppose they have new kinds now that don't have to go in through the throat. Maybe feeding tubes go right into the stomach thru a man-made hole?

and she is NOT vegetative. That is when they lie there and don't move, don't open their eyes, don't respond at all. Like they are asleep. She clearly is awake some of the time and responds to her mother.
