It would seem that the medical provider's attorneys would have pored over the medical records in detail, and if there was any indication that her injuries were caused by the husband, they would have brought it out at the trial and it would not have taken the Schindlers ten years to find this out.

Nope. Permanent vegetative state patients have a circadian sleep/wake cycle, and can instinctually move, including opening eyes.

You're describing a coma, not a vegetable like Terri.
