Chairman Moonves;

I've been following the growing controversy over the upcoming miniseries "The Reagans." While I have not seen it, the information that has leaked to the public from a variety of sources strongly suggests that very liberal, leftist producers and scriptwriters have had a veritable field day trashing one of the icons of the Right.

My family is perhaps better educated than most - our kids share our interest in history and our passion for truth and human freedom. We're luckier than most, I suppose. Our local public school's sins are more those of omission than the promulgation of deliberate lies. Collectivism still doesn't play well in this part of the country. Thus, we have little difficulty in detecting the stench of revisionist history when it comes our way.

This vile and pathetic hatchet job on what history is beginning to recognize as one of America's greatest presidents may well serve as an object lesson in what the Left's Gramscian 'long march through the institutions' has been able to accomplish - the Orwellian re-writing of history to suit a sick political worldview. But we won't be watching, and neither will many of our friends and acquaintances.

If you had any honor, if you had any sense of the truth, you'd pull the plug on this farce. On the other hand, if words like 'duty', 'honor', 'truth' and 'decency' are just the punch lines to sneering liberal party jokes, this letter will mean nothing to you. And you'll run this hate and lie filled piece of Orwellian character assassination anyway. But if you do, you'll pay a price for that, and it may not be immediately apparent.

If you choose to proceed with this program, you will accomplish two things:

1. CBS's credibility will have sunk that much lower. So what, you say? Who cares what a bunch of 'right-wing bigots' think, eh? The problem is that your own tunnel vision blinds you to the fact that the vast majority of those whom you categorize in that manner are in fact hard-working decent folks who do have a regard for the foundational concepts of human dignity: love, accomplishment, achievement and individual freedom and responsibility.

2. Those hard-working decent people (the majority, by the way - your malignant liberal fairy tale worldview to the contrary) are becoming increasingly fed up with the condescending authoritarian paternalistic treatment that political correctness and liberalism affords them. At some point, their heartbreak and anger will not be contained.

I'll contact my local CBS affiliate and inform them that I will not be watching this program, nor will I support any local advertisers whose commercials appear during the program.

It would be gratifying to hear a positive response from you. But I won't hold my breath.

I could care less who Moonbeam is f*ing. But he should definitely be held accountable for his abuse of his feduciary responsibility to the public vis a vis his media business.
