A Palestinian terrorist blew up late this morning while on his way to perpetrating a murderous attack against Israelis. It is assumed that he was on his way to Jerusalem last night, but because a high terror alert was in force, he was deterred by the high numbers of security personnel, and turned back. He then tried to enter a city in the Sharon region today, but again did not succeed. Arutz-7's Kobi Finkler reports that near the village of Azoun, between Karnei Shomron and Alfei Menashe, an IDF force saw the suspicious-looking Arab and called for him to stop. The terrorist began running towards the soldiers, who fired at him - causing the explosives vest he was wearing to explode. One soldier was lightly wounded.
The security forces had been, and still are, on the alert for a terrorist in that area on his way to an attack. The Modiin highway, as well as some entrances to Petach Tikvah, Kfar Saba and Rosh HaAyin were temporarily closed to traffic. Despite the three dozen terrorism warnings in effect, the IDF is continuing to implement "alleviations" for the Arab population in Yesha, including authorizing the entrance of over 15,000 Arabs into pre-1967 Israel.
Fatah says that it dispatched the terrorist who was killed today, and warns that many more attacks are on the way. This morning, Arabs attacked Israeli targets with grenades on the Israeli-Egyptian border and in N'vei Dekalim; no one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned fire. Soldiers were also targeted in a bomb attack in Balata, near Shechem (Nablus), this afternoon; no one was hurt. Five IDF soldiers were wounded yesterday in a clash with terrorists in Shechem. The enemy fighters detonated an explosive device towards the soldiers, resulting in the light-to-moderate wounding of three soldiers; two others were less seriously hurt.
Palestinian terrorist organizations say they do not agree to another hudna - temporary ceasefire. Ahmed Qurei, known as Abu Ala and whose temporary one-month term in office as head of the Palestinian Authority ends today, has a disagreement with his boss Yasser Arafat as to who will serve as interior minister in the PA. The decision is expected to be made today; one possibility is that Abu Ala himself will assume the post.

We were at a wedding Sat night..beautiful ceremony, though the Rabbi's multi-colored yamulke kind of threw me a little...very warm night here in NY..so later in the evening Iwas enjoying a drink on the veranda..talking to someone who travels to Israel often..he said, in passing.."you know, if this were Israel, you'd ahve to have armed guards and dogs patrolling the property.."...makes you think...

Also in Switzerland, where I used to live, all but the old, ancient synagogues are completely hidden. The street addresses are NOT seen. Usually there is a huge stone wall or gate in front and you speak into an intercom that is completely unmarked. We were very late to a wedding once for that reason -- couldn't find the place. Very sad.

Premature Martyr Detonation. I wonder if he gets the goods Allah promises based on intent or if he's just screwed for shorting himself out with Israeli lead on the way to the target?

Just remember, when CNN posts the number of Israelis who have been murdered along with the number of dead palestinians, they are counting suicide vermin like this in the tally.

Official IDF press release:
November 3, 2003 IDF Forces Thwart Suicide Bombing This morning (November 3, 2003), IDF armor and infantry forces conducted widespread searches in the areas of Kalkilya and Tulkarem - thereby thwarting a suicide bombing which was to be carried out inside Israel. During the above-mentioned activity, IDF forces surrounded the village of Azoun, in which 17 year old Sabih Kamal Assad Abu Al Saoud (resident of Rafidiah) was present. Saoud was dispatched by Tanzim operatives in Nablus to carry out a suicide bombing inside Israel. IDF forces placed a curfew on the village, and carried out searches for the above-mentioned terrorist. IDF forces identified the terrorist and called for him to halt. The terrorist, who was surrounded, blew himself up with the intention of harming IDF soldiers nearby. One IDF soldier was lightly wounded in the resulting explosion.

The Swiss have always been on the defensive. Easy for a country that small.

Damn- sounds like Achmed must have failed his Terrorist 101 class. The mindset of these people amazes me, get up , make a cup of coffee, kiss the wife - terrorist supporter goodbye, kiss the children- terrorists in training goodbye, strap on your explosives and go blow yourself to hell. Incredible.

"Fatah says that it dispatched the terrorist who was killed today, and warns that many more attacks are on the way." Isn't Fatah Arafat's group? Yonif, do you think Arafat personally orders these attacks (if he has any mind left)?

A Palestinian terrorist blew up late this morning while on his way.... It's truly a sad world in which we live when this sounds like a perfectly normal start of a sentence.
