Treasure trove of intelligence files unearthed (Iraqi “Stasi” docs names names)

The US is investigating weapons procurement networks and agents of influence who took money from Saddam Hussein's regime after the CIA reportedly seized an extensive cache of files from the former Iraqi Intelligence Service.
The files contain "almost as much as the Stasi files", said one American official, referring to the vast archives of the former East German intelligence service seized after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989...
The recipients of the Iraqi funds were described by US officials not as formal intelligence agents, but as prominent personalities and political figures who accepted money from Iraq as they defended Saddam Hussein publicly or pressed his causes...

I believe Clark was appointed as AG by LBJ. Yes. Sorry. The Clinton connection was on my mind when I wrote that. My apologies.
From what I have found, Ramsey Clark and Lynne Stewart were attorneys of record for Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman who was convicted for plotting terrorist acts against the United States and may have been connected to Ramzi Yousef and the '93 WTC bombing.
Ramsey Clark wants to be the president of the country he litigates against. Scary thought, eh?

I'd LOVE to know who Saddam was paying off.Me too.
I predict, however, that the timid Bush Administration led by the PC State Department will elect not to embarass any of "our freinds". This info will be held tightly in "diplomatic channels". Good for arm twisting our supposed friends but the public will be kept forever in the dark. A few Scott Ritter exceptions maybe but the Big Fish will stay covered.

This info will be held tightly in "diplomatic channels". Good for arm twisting our supposed friends but the public will be kept forever in the dark. We should freep the press to get on this. Maybe that'll help. Americans have the right to know. What if one is running for or is in public office right now? The public should know that.

Sad to say, I think you're right.

....I noticed that the organization ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) came out of nowhere.....
While standing on the Grassy Knoll that is Pershing Park, after the recent successful FReep of ANSWER, an Iraqi gentleman who earlier addressed the DC Chapter Rally pointed to the street where the ANSWER types were on parade and told us that Saddam's money paid for the spectacle.

The recipients of the Iraqi funds were described by US officials not as formal intelligence agents, but as prominent personalities and political figures who accepted money from Iraq as they defended Saddam Hussein publicly or pressed his causes... Something akin to the DNC doling out funds to those prominent political personalities to spew its propaganda.

Have you confused Ramsey with Wesley?
To: concerned about politics
I do remember that and you are right it was quickly tossed aside but, after all, there were sooo many more important things to consider: Kobe, Scott and Lacy, Elizabeth Smart's kidnapping. After those stories there are only a few minutes in the day to concentrate on other things.

Excellent tactic. Use the files the same way the Clintons have used their stolen 900 FBI files, slowly, patiently, brutally.
Think the administration has the guts to fight ?

Here's my take on making the list public.
Any Americans on the list should be charged immediately with any crime they have committed and publication of their names should be handled in accordance with the interests of the prosecution.
Any Americans who have not commiitted a crime should be identified publically as soon as that determination is made.
Any non-US citizens who have no influence on US interests or have no access to valuable information should be outed immediately to show the world what was really going on.
Any non-US citizens who have potential use as intelligence assets should be given a chance to start doing us favors under threat of being outed (yes - blackmail them; we are at war and they have allied with people who are killing Americans). Once they are outed they are useless to us and have nothing to lose by continuing support for our enemies.
I would not advocate a blanket publication of the list even though that would feel great and I'd love to know who's on it.

Have you confused Ramsey with Wesley? Heck no. Ramsey is leading the entire ANSWER anti-sovernity colition. They want him to represent the US, as part of the one world UN government.
Wesley is just a puppet for Hillary. He's a dork, and they know it. Ramsey has more clout.
I read liberal websites. Know the enemy (and they're so bazzarr, it's frightening).

Personally I'd LOVE to have this all released.
Yep - could be quite a "quagmire" for the Rats...Scott Ritter would be the supreme icing on the cake.

Found this in the article.....
The Iraq Survey Group, the CIA-supervised body appointed by President George Bush to lead the hunt for special weapons, hopes its searches for fugitive officers from the Iraqi security services may also produce breakthroughs in the hunt for weapons of mass destruction.
In the meantime, as they make on-site visits and conduct interviews, survey group teams are increasingly falling under hostile, professional surveillance and ambush attempts, according to officials involved in the weapons searches.
We are getting very close to the WMD's..

I think you're confusing Ramsey and Wesley.No. Wesly is a puppet. Ramsey is the one they're promoting, but not obviously - yet. It's wise to read liberal websites, especially the VERY anti-American ones. That way, you know what they're chattering about.
To: 68skylark
Now we have to ask ourselves what the CIA is going to do with the list of names. Is the information more powerful for them if it is released, or is it more powerful if they hold it? That's the $64,000 question. I'm afraid they'll keep it hush-hush when Bush needs it now to slap down Shrillary and Co. If we can only find SH, it'd put a stop to payoffs for our troops and helicopters.
