"We're just getting smarter," said an aide to the Senate Democratic leadership.

Which means actually, they don't really believe in these things, but will support them because it's politically expedient to do so.

..the vast majority of gun owners, manufacturers and sellers are honest and law-abiding," Mr. Daschle said...

Save your breath, Daschle. Gunowners know that you'd turn on them like a pet cobra, if the circumstances were right. Another Columbine, for instance. It's going to take a lot more than a few pheasant hunting photo ops before gunowners are ready to trust a Dem in the White House.

Mr. Daschle, who also voted for this, said he had "a lot of misgivings about this (partial birth abortion) bill," but that after eight years of debate, "it was time to move on" and send the issue to the courts.

Now there's a real insight into a Liberal's mind!

Liberals consider the Courts more than just a "co-equal" branch of government. They are the final word on everything, even trumping Congressional action. They are the last resort of the totalitarians.

They have a point, though. They have managed to morph the Courts into the spearhead of the American Socialist Movement. Without the Courts, the Liberal agenda would go nowhere!

The writer should have asked them how they feel about the Assault Weapons Sunset.
