I even heard one of the talking heads say there wasn't any such thing as a nomination process. There is a nomination process, just as there was a nomination process for the 2003 gubernatorial recall election in Florida. I would question the judgement, however, of anyone (with a few exceptions*) who would boast of being a gubernatorial nominee.
(*) For some people, like Mary Carey, such a claim might be good for business due to novelty value.
I'm sure being nominated for the Nobel Prize probably feels pretty good, but the term "nominee" might better be described as "applicant".

(Why is it that the more "gun safety" laws are passed, the less safe my guns seem?)

The point is the doctor didn't lie, Felos and his friends were lying.
Bill Clinton was nominated, George Bush has been nominated. We hear about their nominations. I don't see any problem with the doctor bragging about his nomination.
