What is it with these strip characters, anyway? Dagwood and Blondie had kids that aged, for a time--they were all born one-by-one inside the strip--then just stopped. Prince Valiant has aged twenty years in the last sixty.
For that matter, ever read Casino Royale? It set in about 1953. James Bond is a veteran spy who had cut his teeth just before the outbreak of WWII, now tooling around northern France in his pre-war Bentley investigating this communist casino-owner, Le Chiffre. That would have made him perhaps a year or two older than my Dad. So here it is 2003 and James looks like a guy who couldn't possibly even have been born when WWII ended.
