It's taken as a given among Democrats that somehow this administration has needlessly offended the French and Germans. But insulting Britain, Australia and Poland as a cheap way to get at Bush demonstrates your superior sense of the subtleties of foreign policy? Good point Steyn.

I've just recently started reading Mark Steyn. My son put me on to him. I don't know nwcessarily where I have been all this time, but somehow I managed to miss him. He must be considered one of the best.
...The wackos end of the Democratic field...
I would seriously like it if someone could tell me where are any non-wackos in the Democratic field.

Actually, I think this is Dean's way of coming out of the closet without actually admitting his homosexual tendencies...

I've always enjoyed Steyn's observations, particularly since he brings his ex-Canadian sensibilities to the idiocies perpetrated by the leftists of the world, who he knows well. What strikes me about his descriptions of these leftist Democrat losers is the realization that this Democrat dreck continues to poll in the mid-40s in this country. What an example of collective lunacy!

Regardless of how you feel about Kerry's domestic program, (it stinks, but that's beside this point) he could have appeared very "presidential" if he would have gone along with Lieberman and agreed that deposing Hussein was necessary. However his vanity and ambition are so great, he believes that people will forget his lies and flip-flops regarding the war. He's got the physical thing and the war record, but he wants to attract the very leftist base of the Dem party so badly that he's willing to say and do anything to get their support.
The irony is that he won't get it anyway after all this groveling before them. Dean has the anti-war crowd locked up. Kerry looks very much like a big hypocrite and a fool for chasing after that vote.

He is the best, no doubt about it.
Btw, when post a Steyn column, please put his name in the title. Makes it easier to search. Thanks.

There are always two things we do when we sit down and
write a song. First we sit down. Then we write a song."
One of the better cable shows was Sports Night, a behind-
the-scenes sports telecast program. From the dialogue of
the two sportscasters of the show:
"We need a plan."
"I have a plan."
"What is your plan?"
"Well, first we show up."
"Okay, we show up. Then what?"
"Then we see what happens."
"That's the plan? We show up and see what happens?"
"That's the plan."
"I love it."

Yes. With a dollop of PJ O'Rourke and Mark Twain.
There is none finer than Steyn.
