What about the option of just leveling everyone over the age of 12 in the Fallujah area? I mean, what the hell--if they don't want us around, let's just end it right here.

It's time for the U.S. to roll into Syria and Iran and put an end to this nonsense.

I am sorry to say this, but this is beginning (just beginning) to look like Vietnam. We better take rapid control of the situation fast, or Bush will be toast next year.

The perps of this crap are *Syrians*, I think a couple of JDAMS in downtown Damascus might convince Assad to put a lid on these infiltrators coming across the border.

Sir, I'd ask that you get a
sense of history which, by the face of your statement, you lack.

Somalia comes to mind. This is the model Saddam and AlQaeda hoped for.
Also, the Russians in Afghanistan.
No time for getting soft. But I am sure anticipating the US election cycle has a lot to do with these Ramadan attacks.

US won't back down - Rumsfeld
02/11/2003 15:21 - (SA) Washington - US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Sunday that the United States would continue its efforts to stabilise Iraq, despite a deadly attack there that left at least 13 US troops dead.
Rumsfeld confirmed that troops were killed and about 20 others wounded when a US military helicopter was shot down flying to Baghdad international airport on Sunday morning. But, he said, the most recent losses would not dissuade President George W Bush's administration from continuing its global war on terror.
"The only thing to do is... to take the war on terror to the terrorists," Rumsfeld said, speaking on NBC television early on Sunday.
"You can't just hunker down and hope they don't hit you again," he added.
But he added that US officials were not deluded that subduing terrorism in Iraq would be easy.
"It isn't a pretty picture. It's a tough picture," the US defence secretary said.
Rumsfeld said the Chinook helicopter was likely hit by a surface to air missile as it was ferrying US troops to Baghdad.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! This war has been going on what... 6 or 7 months... and people are talking Vietnam (of course, they were talking quagmire 2 weeks in, get real).
And come on people... the only reason we aren't having downed commercial flights and other attacks on US soil today is because we took the fight to them. They are too busy in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Oh my gosh, there was a tragedy, we should leave Iraq. That is exactly what the terrorists want. You know, California is suffering massive wildfires, I say we evacuate everyone out of CA to a safer part of the US (just don't send the SF's to where I live, it is bad enough as it is).

Sir, I'd ask that you get a sense of history which, by the face of your statement, you lack. Thank you for the link. I was well aware of these statistics, (average daily deaths of 450/30 = 15) and in fact, was referring to those numbers obliquely in my statement. When I read 15 died in the chopper crash, that number brought back memories of the above statistics.
