Did you know Dennis Miller is going to have his own show on CNBC? I think it starts sometime in first quarter next year. I can't wait! :-)

"I am reading "The Faith of George W. Bush" by Stephen Mansfield right now. I am finishing the first chapter, but it is very comforting to me to have a Godly man in the White House. Contrary to what the left-wing extremists think, the vast majority of Americans are comforted as well. The book is a great read so far."

You are correct about being comforted. I am also. When W Bush says he was chosen by God, to lead this country, I sincerely believe he was.

The ABC (Anything But Christianity) assault on our 1st amendment continues... Thank God we've a President who realizes that the best way to stand on his feet is to get on his knees in prayer.

George W. Bush never said he was chosen by God. Saying that he felt God wanted him to run for president does not equal that he was CHOSEN. Nobody will ever find a quote from GWB where he says God CHOSE him to be president of the United States. They've been trying to push this line for a long time and I have yet to see anyone find such a quote.

I believe our God chose George Bush, and that our God chooses America to lead the cause of righteousness and freedom in the world.

I also believe many many Americans are at best, indifferent; and at worst, cynical to God's work.

"Hey, we almost have a club :-)"

I think it's official now ;) It's a club. I'm agnostic and getting more anti-secularist with every outrageous attack I see against religious freedom (which is at least 3 or 4 times a day lately).

Here's what I think is funny. The Left loves Ghandi. He is the pinnacle to them of "peaceful protest". But the fact is, the only reason what he did -worked- was because the British were basically too Christian and moral to simply kill all of Ghandi's protesters.

Let's say Ghandi had tried that with atheist Stalin. Stalin would have smiled, handed Ghandi the Order of Lenin for making his life so easy, and bulldozed the entire area where Ghandi had so conveniently gathered all the protesters in one place.

"believes he is on a direct mission from God"

Does this make anyone uneasy?

I wonder if he really believes this or if he just says that he believes it.

"God is Good! Amen!"

Yes, indeed, HE is.

I shudder everytime I think of Algore in the White House, especially after 9-11.

IMHO, Gore and those he likely would have appointed to the cabinet would not have had the experience and the will to deal with 911. Thank you for your post!

Whenever I hear the lefties gnashing against the President, I can't help but think of:

" Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake."

Washington and Lincoln certainly were. Probably most of the early US presidents were.

And we have evidence lincoln was religious where again?

Some time since I promised you that I would send you a letter in relation to Mr. Lincoln's religion. I do so now. Before entering on that question, one or two preliminary remarks will help us to understand why he disagreed with the Christian world in its principles as well as in its theology. In the first place, Mr. Lincoln's mind was a purely logical mind; secondly, Mr. Lincoln's was a purely practical mind. He had no fancy or imagination, and not much emotion. He was a realist as opposed to an idealist. As a rule, it is true that a purely logical mind has not much hope, if it ever has faith, in the unseen and unknown. Mr. Lincoln had not much hope and no faith in the unseen and unknown. Mr. Lincoln had not much hope and no faith in things that lie outside of the domain of demonstration; he was so constituted, so organized that he could believe nothing unless his senses or logic could reach it. I have often read to him a law point, a decision, or something I fancied. He could not understand it until he took the book out of my hand, and read the thing for himself. He was terribly, vexatiously skeptical. He could scarcely understand anything, unless he had time and place fixed in his mind.--Letter from William Herndon to Francis Abbott, 1870
Perhaps closer to Clinton than Washington. I will agree most of the earlier Presidents were strong in their faith

My sister said she voted for Clinton "because he's a Christian". To this day she still believes he's a Christian.

"Among Mansfield's revelations is his insistence that Bush and Tony Blair have prayed together at a private meeting at Camp David. Blair has previously denied this."

Mansfield, however, says that, while there were no witnesses, aides were left in little doubt as to what had happened."

Blair denies it, nobody witnessed it but Mansfield insists it happened.

Just like a liberal slime to know what happened behind closed doors when none of the primaries are talking.

Frankly considering what the US and this president is facing I'd sure as heck rather have my pres on his knees asking for some guidance rather than having an intern on her knees in front of my pres.

I find it very hard to believe that Bill is either.

Didn't you ever notice that big ole Bible he carried around?

Agree with you, they all at least say they are Christians, at least they used to. I think the day is coming when they will run from that since it is becoming so demonized, no pun intended.

Well .. I knew he was supposed to be President too.

I also get awakened in the middle of the night and am impressed to pray for our President and his family.

I cannot imagine any other person having the fortitude to lead America at this most dangerous time.

I think you're short-changing America. I think we're still in shock from 9/11.

However, when we get through the next election, I believe America is going to witness a renewal .. I don't know exactly how it's going to happen .. but I can tell you the gay agenda in our schools .. the attack against Christianity and the farce of political correctness will be some of the targets.

I just purchased David Limbaugh's new book "Persecution". I think it's going to be a primer for Christians.

Interesting that 'renewal' equates to a war against other Americans, rather than the subject of the post to which you replied, ie, war against terrorism.
