WHAT DEMS SHOULD WORRY ABOUT

Woe is me. The last hope Democrats had of winning in 2004 has vanished. Those nasty "tax cuts for the rich" have just boosted the GNP by 7.3 percent in the last quarter ("Bush boom," Oct. 31.") Unemployment is going down, and employers are starting to rehire.

I guess they'll have to quit calling it "the Bush economy."

I considered that but the bantering over Reaganomics continues to this day.

I don't know how, but some way, some how, the dems will figure out a way to take credit for the boost in the economy, and then their friends in the media will gleefully follow along in giving them credit. Then next few weeks will be interesting.

The Dems are trying their best. Yesterday's Washington Post headline said something like "Economy Grows, but Unemployment Still High"...

If, as some experts predict, hiring grows in the beginning-to-middle of 2004, the Dems are in real trouble.

There is still hope for the Democrats. Their man in Tikrit, Saddam Hussein, is about to mount a huge offensive against the US troops, and send "thousands" home in body bags. The US government, in disarray, will have no choice but to abandon their adventure in Iraq, and withdraw, as happened in Viet Nam.

The fortunes of the Democrat party are inversely proportional to the successes of the United States, in domestic and foreign situations. At this rate, the Democrats will be reduced to the status of the Whigs.
