President Vicente Fox will discuss trade and promote talks on Mexican migration with state leaders in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, which are home to millions of people of Mexican heritage, a top official said Friday.

Migration will be the major theme of the three-day trip starting Saturday as Fox meets with governors, legislators and mayors -- "the people who know firsthand the advantages, opportunities and challenges involved in the migration phenomenon," said Mexican Deputy Foreign Secretary for the United States Geronimo Gutierrez.

Typical of Fox... runs on the platform of the "Great Mexican Reformer" and his solution – pass them on to the US and let the US take care of the bill.

It has been widely reported in the Mexican newspapers that Bush was to Meet Fox in November. Since the California election, maybe things have changed.

Any agreement to legalize the illegals should be accompanied by a reciprocal promise to turn Mexican oilfields over to Texaco.

Otherwise, no deal. We don't need no steenkin illegals.

A meddling Mexican [my description] says

"Neither in Mexico nor in the United States should we let people take their justice in their own hands. Whenever there's a way that the Mexican government can either directly proceed with a legal process against any vigilante organization or promote that the authorities start an investigation, and if there are sufficient elements to prosecute them through the judicial system, we will do it." Geronimo Gutierrez

From the Arizona Republic, "Napolitano to visit Fox in Mexico, Immigrant issues, oil are on agenda." by Tessie Borden, Republic Mexico City Bureau, Aug. 24, 2003

Meddling Mexicans, I'm sick of Mexico's corrupt government's consulate and other officials interferring in our internal affairs as though it is their right. I loathe both of our political parties for allowing 24/7 insults to our sovereignty. Don't take my vote for granite, Republicans. Dems will make it worse, sure; but the culture war will become in sharp focus with them in power. Let's get it overwith.

Re: the California elections

In Mr. Schwarznegger's first news conference he stated very, very clearly that he wants to help "undocumented workers." He likes proposals such as those offered by Sen. McCain. Yes, he says he opposes drivers' licenses for ILLEGALs -- but he has made it clear that he intends to work at the national level to make them ALL legal.

It's hard to believe that an American president would believe anything that a scumbag president from a third world hellhole says. If Bush is foolish enough to go along with what V.Fox wants, it will cost him the election in '04. The outrage will be so loud that he will have to hear it. Any politician voting in favor of Mexican illegal aliens should be booted from office, including Bush.

Of course they are, and shame on them. The law should treat those who do as it does any other scofflaw, IMO.
