BISBEE -- Cochise County remains the number one area for illegal immigrants to enter the United States with more than 58 percent of those apprehended in the first 30 days of the new federal fiscal year in the Tucson Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol occurring in the county.
In the first 30 days of October 25,806 illegal immigrants have been apprehended in the Tucson Sector, an area that includes most of Arizona, except for the far western counties, sector spokesman Andy Adame said this morning. Of that number 15,143 were taken into custody by agents in Cochise County, he added.
Dents are being made in the smuggling process with five illegal immigrants being charged with felony alien smuggling after a fake Channel 12 News vehicle, pickup truck and an Oldsmobile sedan were stopped over a two day period this week, Adame said.
Acting on a tip agents from the Naco Station arrested five illegal immigrants being transported in the fake TV vehicle, which was a 1995 Ford Explorer, on Tuesday, he said.
"It looked just like a Channel 12 vehicle," Adame said. Channel 12 is a Phoenix TV station.
Initially agents were informed that suspected illegal immigrants were living in a Naco, Ariz., house, he said.
The tipster said there were two vehicles outside the residence, the other being a red Isuzu pickup and agents watched 10 illegal immigrants get into the two vehicles, he said.
The vehicles were stopped and the illegal immigrants apprehended, the spokesman said.
The female driver of the Ford and the male driver of the Isuzu, both of whom were illegal immigrants themselves, were charged with smuggling, he said.
Information gathered from the Tuesday case led to agents stopping a gray Oldsmobile sedan on Wednesday as it was leaving a house in Bisbee, Adame said.
Inside the vehicle were four passengers and the driver an all were illegal immigrants, he said.
Based on information the apprehended people provided agents obtained permission to search the residence and found five more illegal immigrants inside, Adame said.
Three people were arrested in the Wednesday incident and charged with conspiracy to transport and harbor illegal aliens, he said.
Some of the apprehended people are being held as material witnesses to testify against the individuals who have been charged, Adame said.
Of the 25,806 illegal immigrants apprehended in the U.S. Border Patrol's Tucson Sector the first 30 days of October, more than 58 percent were taken into custody in Cochise County.
Following are the number of apprehensions agents from the three stations in the county took into custody:
Naco -- 9,104.
Douglas -- 5,402.
Willcox -- 637.
Total apprehensions in the county is 15,143.

Over 15,000 in Cochise County, which shares a mere 80 miles of border with Mexico...80 of 2000 miles total.

Think about it. One portion of the boarder arrests 25K illegals in a month.
If we are apprehending as many as 10% then that rate represents a quarter million unregulated entries per month in that sector alone. That's 2.5M a year in one part of the boarder.
Mutiply that rate by several years and add to it the elevated birth rates of those who migrate north and we're now approaching mid two figure millions.
To those who say we haven't got a serious unregulated immigration problem I say screw you.

They copied the 12 News vehicle right down to the slogans on the side...those decals cost over $1000 and are only made by one company who keeps track of its work. Whoever did the bogus vehicle did a very good job.

Well, it's all about the money isn't it?
Smuggling is a time-honored trade, if you'll pardon the pun. It's reasonably safe money, those who are caught and prosecuted don't spend much time at all in prison...unlike drug runners.
I'm willing to bet there are several outfits who can dummy up a vehicle for the right fee. If you've been in the right news coverage area, you'll remember that the smugglers have also used U.S. Postal Service, United Parcel Service, and even U.S. Border Patrol look-a-likes in the furtherance of their cross-border trade.

Thanks for the ping. There's supposed to be something going on at the border in that area on November 16, involving the US and Mexico; something about a terrorism drill?

Lets all move to Cochise County and make it 100%! Other's would surely then follow!

It really bugs me when the authorities talk about apprehending material witnesses for a trial. They don't say the illegals aliens are arrested. So between now and trial time which can be 6 mos. to a year, what do these illegal aliens do? Do we give them work permits? Do we give them food stamps. Do we incarcerate them? Do we give them amnesty or a green card for cooperation?
As it stands right now, the country is full of illegal witnesses. We have 250 witnesses from Walmart as I don't think these illegals have been charged with anything. We also have 70 or 80 from the south Texas truck load where 10 to 20 died. Now we have these smugglers.
Does anyone know the fate of the witnesses? They should really be deported but are they?

Cochise County remains the number one area for illegal immigrants to enter the United States Every informed Freeper on our ping list knows this. We should thank the likes of HiJinx, spiff, madfly, and the departed Jackeloupebreeder ( unjustly banned ) for keeping us informed about this. I wish we could get John McCain to read some of these threads but I don't think he'll ever get it.
Thanks for your efforts JustPiper.

Why not email McCain this link LOL. McCain has insulated himself well from the peasant class. If one of his aides every gave him this link, he probably throw a fit and then fire the person. I generally e-mail my senators here in Missouri and my state senator and rep.
I don't think McCain would give a hoot what someone from Missouri or Illinois thinks unless we waved money in his face.

Yes!
Yes!
Yes!
Yes but, there are a few illegals who are in the cooler. There was national habitual sex offender sweep that netted several hundred and surprise, 56 we illegals.
